She Who Sees The World - Isle of Eigg "In Morro's lines we follow a responsive plying of passage, in time and over water. The textures and turns of the island arrive in steady translation, patiently stepped and sounded out.">In June of 2022, Christine Morro was artist in residence at Sweeney's Bothy on the Isle of Eigg, one the small isles in the Scottish Inner Hebrides. Eigg has been owned by the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust since 1997, as a community ownership; another stakeholder, the Scottish Wildlife Trust, manages the island as a nature reserve. This chapbook offering takes its inspiration from her walks from Sweeney's Bothy to Camas Sgiotaig, Singing Sands, Isle of Eigg. Christine weaves words of landscape, flora & fauna to encapsulate the experience, the eternal wisdom that a place of such raw beauty can confer on the human psyche and spirit. A place where "The weight of grey born of the edge of the world" reminds us "we are all myths unfolding". About The AuthorChristine's poetry has appeared in Reliquiae published by Corbel Stone Press, her prose and photography have appeared in Minding Nature (Center for Humans and Nature), Landlines (Leeds University UK), The Pilgrim, Flyway Journal, and her debut poetry collection, In Beauty We Are Made Visible (Middle Creek Publishing & Audio). Join Rowan as he visits the home store to shop for a new fan and light for his home. This book can be enjoyed by any child but is particularly suited for children on the autism spectrum. It is well known that light affects these children in unique ways. In some cases, they are transfixed with turning lights on and off. Additionally, spinning fans can draw attention. In this book, Rowan learns about the different lights around him when his father installs a new ceiling fan. This book has simple, uncluttered illustrations to draw attention only to the main point of each page. You will read about five types of lights found in most homes. This will give the reader some language with which you can converse with the child about lights.
