The longing to achieve literacy, learn new things, and built a career are the underlying reasons why people pursue education. Not everyone finds education gratifying but the mentioned factors motivate us to learn:Endless curiosity means having a constant impulse or desire to investigate, observe, or gather information, particularly when the material is novel or interesting. To avoid the embarrassment of knowing nothing- in this scenario, learning is used as a safety behavior to avoid shame. Lived experiences of self-conscious emotions like shame, guilt, or embarrassment are a strong motivation for self-change.

The "Legacy of Father John" is a remarkable true story about a great man who just happened to be my father. Born in Houston, Texas in 1933, John Sanders went on to become a prominent minister in the Episcopal church and an important leader during the civil rights movement of the 1960s. From his writings to being rector of a transitioning parish in Houston's third ward, he helped improve the state of race relations during a controversial period in the South. Throughout his career, my father advocated for the gay community and gender equality. He never shied away from voicing his opinion on controversial topics within the church and in his life. This may have hampered his career, but he refused to bow to popular opinion. He led fearlessly by example and departed this world in 2019 having left his mark on the church and the people and communities he touched. In addition, he managed to help turn his three rowdy sons into responsible men and was an adoring husband to my mother, Frances. The book is also the story of my family and our many relocations to a wide variety of diverse cities. His legacy lives on in these places and the lives of his children. While my brothers contributed to this narrative, I felt it was my responsibility to ensure his legacy was recorded and ultimately remembered. His is a story that needed to be told.
HOLIER THAN THOU is a study of what I feel are the real origins of religions and how they actually evolved. A critical review of the major weaknesses and illegalities in the scriptures of Christianity and Islam and how they have negatively affected our lives plus a recommendation on how to correct them. An attempt to put religion in its place, to respect it but realize that it is only one of the ways to keep us on the right track to living a good life while, at the same time, respecting our neighbours.

Based loosely on a true account, the main character faces many of the trials and tribulations associated with his teenage years and college. It is also a tribute to his real-life football coach and many of the excellent teachers who paved his way to a successful life.

Legend has it that there was a mutiny in Heaven. The lesser gods like Agwe, Ogun, Erzulie, and a multitude of others were sent to Earth into exile to live amongst the humans. These gods have shared the foods, and the rum, and have often given in to their carnal desires. They picked Ephemera a chain of islands in the Caribbean including Mahogany Island, a place of infinite beauty branded "The Pearl of the Antilles" but prone to disasters often caused by her own inhabitants. God had a change of heart and dispatched the recently deceased Tonton Fortuné as a sage to Mahogany Island. His mission: To warn the youths of the dangers ahead for their piece of paradise if the Mahogany Islanders did not change their ways. Should they raise an army to eradicate the gangs and the violence that has taken over the land? Or should they garner all their inner strength, ally themselves with their environment, and offer a non-violent alternative to rescue their dying nation from the abyss? Mahogany Island shall not die! Mahogany Island shall not die!
Pundits, journalists, and individuals bemoan the state of the economy on a regular basis, but they usually direct their criticism at Wall Street manipulators and big corporations. The real blame should go to the structure of a system that condones and overlooks practices leading to world economic and financial crises that create high unemployment, a huge increase in debt, and a widening gap between the super rich and the poor. All this is leading to the destruction of the middle class and an alarming increase in the cost of living. Various solutions have been proposed, including nationalization of the entire private economy or an increase in private control of big banks and corporations. Others advocate simply taking over Wall Street without any clearly defined objectives.A new system would prevent the economic and financial crises as well as the social upheavals that go along with them, but it's none of those described above. Learn about "Equitocracy" and what you can do to promote its objectives.¿Radu Buzescu earned two master's degrees ---- one from a European university and the other from an American university --- and has conducted extensive on social, economic, and financial structures. My brother Denny was unable to publish his book because on April 30th, 2004 he was killed in a motorcycle accident. During Easter, he was talking about having a book signing once it was published. Some persons who get breast cancer do not survive. Muriel Klafehn is one of those people. This book chronicles her life from the time of diagnosis of cancer in her right breast until her death. Every day was lived to be as normal as it could be. And so it began, removing a breast on Friday, eating dinner out and attending a concert on Saturday, and directing the Chorale in church on Sunday. In this forthright manner, she became an inspiration to me and to all those who were touched by her life. Her prayer for peace at the outset of her "adventure" was granted by the Lord, fully sustaining her on a daily basis. She traveled during radiation therapy and she traveled in the midst of chemotherapy. Her love of music was satisfied by attending concerts and touring Broadway shows, and she drew energy from trips to the ocean that helped to rejuvenate her. Each fall she renewed her desire to get another hiking medallion. She maintained her passion for reading by the devouring book after book until it became a chore to concentrate. Cancer metastasized three different times in her body. She underwent sixty-three radiation treatments and eight chemotherapy treatments. In addition, there were CT scans, bone scans, and other diagnostic tests to which she was subjected. She had a prophylactic mastectomy of the left breast and numerous Aredia treatments. She suffered complications of COPD and radiation enteritis. Thirty-eight doctors were involved in her treatment. Through it, all Muriel judged that God had a purpose in permitting her to have cancer. She chose to focus on that purpose, exclaiming not Why me? But Why not me? Much of who Muriel was and the relationship we had is established through reminiscences and flashbacks. It is rare that one has the opportunity to grieve while the individual is still alive but Muriel, in her own way, gave that gift to me as her life ebbed away. I and all who knew Muriel stand as one. Though we have been deprived by her absence, we are made greater by her memory and gain solace in knowing that we will always bear the calm, irreplaceable stamp of her adventurous life.
