Rich's son Ryan finally graduates from law school and is anxious to start practicing law. While in law school he meets and falls in love with Amanda, Sherman, a classmate who doesn't want to practice law but has her sights set on becoming a literary agent. When Ryan hears of this he remembers that his father has written a true crime book about the murder of Martha Collins, his mother's aunt. He tells Amanda about the book and she is ecstatic with the prospect of it being her first placement. Unfortunately, she soon discovers Rich and his wife, Erica, don't want the book published but won't say why. She suspects it is because it contains some incriminating evidence against one or both of them. While Amanda schemes to get Rich's book published, Matt Coleman petitions the court to overturn his conviction for bankruptcy fraud, now that everybody knows he was set up for the crime. Besides clearing his name he wants to get his law license back. Rich tries to help him as he wants Matt to begin a crusade against predatory mortgage lenders who he believes are pillaging consumers all across the nation. The need to get Matt reinstated becomes more urgent when a client comes in with a great case for the firm to prosecute and Rich lines up a mole in Reliable Mortgage Servicing, the loan servicing company involved, and wants to help bring them down. Matt, still grieving his first wife Lynn's murder two years earlier, finally strikes up a relationship with the owner of an escort service named Candy. The relationship starts off slow but eventually blossoms into a full blown love affair. But just when he thinks he is finally getting his life back on track, Candy is kidnapped and Matt fears she's going to suffer the same fate as Lynn.
Nearly thirty years after Rich Coleman and Erica Fox narrowly survive their chilling death pact they are still together and thriving.Rich Coleman's son Matt has just passed the bar exams and is anxious to make his fortune practicing law. Unfortunately his plans to be a PI attorney have been soured by tort reform. Matt's new bride Lynn is a marketing major and, with the help of her college professor, comes up with a brilliant marketing plan - convince people that the credit card companies are manipulating them into a permanent state of financial slavery. Since their financial distress is a result of these practices there is no shame involved in filing a bankruptcy to get out of their grip and become a free person again. As a result of this plan business booms and bankruptcy filings climb. Of course several banks that are involved in predatory credit card practices are severely hurt. The problem is that these are very powerful people and they do not want his success to continue, nor do they want other lawyers copying his success in other parts of the country. One particular banker, Frank Hill of Midsouth Bank, is particularly disturbed by the serious financial losses his bank is suffering as a result of all these new bankruptcies. To save his bank from these crippling losses he orders some very drastic and ruthless measures to stop Matt and Lynn and to destroy their Debt Relief Centers of Texas. Hill's actions turn out to be quite effective and the Debt Relief Centers of Texas are put out of business. But as Matt reels from the devastation inflicted upon him, he concocts a plan to, not only destroy Frank Hill and Midsouth Bank, but to expose the credit card conspiracy in a way that will force Congress to do something about it. Love, greed and revenge fuel this raging thriller about the evil spawned by the Plastic Gods we love and cherish.
Over the years I have seen too many businesses fail, not because of lack of customers or sales, but due to poor management. So, I wanted to warn my clients about all the pitfalls that there are out there for the small business owner. But to do that would take a lot of time, more time than any client would be willing to invest face to face. So, I decided to write a book that I could give out to my clients with a detailed explanation of everything that could go wrong with their business and how to deal with it. It was my hope that they would read about these problems before they reared their ugly heads in their own businesses. To accomplish this I wrote You Can Save Your Small Business as a light, entertaining read, complete with stories about actual cases that I have dealt with in the past. One of my critics complained that the book was basic and dealt with fundamentals and not for the seasoned or savvy businessman. Well, he is right about it being about the fundamentals of running a business. That's exactly what I intended as I have seen even experienced businessmen forget or ignore fundamental principals of running a business and end up in bankruptcy. More often than not, the businesses I filed bankruptcies for over the years, were owned by very talented, intelligent people. Often times they were great salesmen, designers or artists, but they didn't know how to run a business. They didn't know or appreciate the many pitfalls that are discussed in my book.I'm sure many of the things I discuss the reader will be familiar, but I guarantee you there will be many things the reader doesn't know. Things that could save him hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars and a boatload of grief, if he pays attention and heeds my advice.

In the spring of 1976, while attending SMU, he is recruited into the Republican party, elected county chairman, and finds himself helping President Gerald Ford in his campaign against Jimmy Carter. The campaign is marred, however by an untimely FBI investigation into the financial dealings of a major party contributor, Brad Thornton. The investigation unleashes an avalanche of misfortune beginning with the alleged murder-suicide of Stan's friend, Rob Shepard, his wife Cindy and their three children and culminating in the resignation of two Republican candidates for the 67th District's state representative seat. Stan, who can't believe his best friend could have murdered his family, launches his own personal investigation to clear Rob's name. When the investigation turns up new evidence that threatens members of a powerful Mexican drug cartel, Stan becomes the target of Cartel thugs and hit men. Undaunted by these threats, Stan enlists the help of a resourceful classmate, Paula Waters, and a law professor, Harry Hertel (aka Snake) and undertakes a dangerous mission to extract a key witness held by the Cartel at a Mexican resort. Still saddled with the responsibly to field a candidate in the 67th District Stan recruits his assistant, Kristina Tenison, for the job. Kristina is reluctant to run as no woman has ever been elected to this office since Reconstruction, but when Stan agrees to be her campaign manager and promises her she'll win, she reluctantly enters the race against the veteran incumbent, Ron Wells. But as the election draws near and she still finds herself lagging in the polls, she wonders if she hasn't made a big mistake and questions Stan's continued assurances that she'll win.
Stan and Rebekah's good friends, Don and Pam Blaylock, are in deep trouble. An imprudent investment in a Golden Dragon franchise and their son's arrest for DWI trigger an avalanche of misfortune culminating with the murder of Luther Bell, the smooth-talking restaurant promoter responsible for their impending demise. In order to prove Steven's innocence, he'd have to prove that aliens had visited Possum Kingdom Lake!
