The Count of Sainte-Hélène: A Balzacian Melodrama takes place in 1817-1818 in Paris, during the Bourbon Restoration when Louis XVIII had been placed on the throne of France at the decree of the Congress of Vienna after the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815. This play is based on one of the most sensational cases solved by the first great detective in history, Eugène-François Vidocq, the ex-convict who became head of the French Sûreté (the Security Service of the French police). An altogether extraordinary individual, he was an acquaintance of Victor Hugo, who based both Jean Valjean and Inspector Javert in Les Misérables on Vidocq; and a friend of Balzac, whose character Vautrin is even more closely inspired by and modeled on Vidocq than Hugo's characters are. Interludes of the Hear: A Play about Marcel Proust, his life and loves, was inspired by my love for that author's most famous book, In Search of Lost Time. The play goes back and forth in time, as the Student interviews Céleste Albaret, Proust's housekeeper and general factotum, for his doctoral dissertation. When I read the book, I felt it was as if he were talking directly to me. I am sure many readers have had the same experience. Proust's penetrating picture of the society of his day in pre-World War One France, and of Paris during the war itself, and his amazing, psychologically insightful portrait of each of his characters, his understanding of psychology that in some ways parallels that of Sigmund Freud, makes his book still relevant in today's world.
This is a collection of observations recorded by a wanderer who says little but writes much. He is a mortal but yearns for the gifts of ascension and return, believing he descended from up there. In the meantime, while here on earth, he opens his senses and discovers pen and paper.
Consider this book. Beyond these pages is my collection of stories centered on mental health and multigenerational relationships. This is my first book since the one I finished in high school, Mr. Rot's Garden (2018). It may seem curious there's just nine short stories I've tucked in here, but I am quite proud of all of them and feel they well represent my strengths as a writer. The first I'd like to mention is "An Assessment In Frailty" which picks up right at the end of a home tour. Eighty-four year-old Franklin Sprawl is put down by homeowner Robert Lash who claims the senior hasn't made any meaningful contribution to society during his lifetime of work. This spark's Sprawl's relentless need to prove lash wrong by making an art piece that says more about Lash's flaws than anything else. The second, "Surface Street Shades," follows Elderly widow, Geraldine Fade, who drives in a weathered truck with a distinctive gash on its tailgate. The old woman is aghast when a white SUV is stalking her, though she manages to lose them momentarily and sets upon inviting her handyman over to do work and quell her stress, she learns the hard way about the many faces of appreciation.Thirdly, my title story, "Threat Along The Homestretch" concerns an anxious young adult, with unbidden urges, who just wants to get home. But when road work redirects him away from the shorter path to his house, he must enter a senior center where he thinks he is increasingly susceptible to striking out. "The Welcoming Bench," shows a young teen boy's perspective change thanks to a story an old Quaker gives him about her dear deceased friend Nanette Looking. It's a cozy premise with memorable characters which tackles greater themes of religion and universal needs for companionship.

I've used Connie as the pseudonym for my father. Then rearranged names and places to conceal my ideas of how he delt with the family and his job / career while heading an independent Labor Union. He was raised in a strong labor movement household and was strongly opposed to large international unions where he felt the independent union would be just another clog in the wheel of the giant organization with no autonomy or say in contract negotiations. This is the story of politics in New York City from the 1920's to the late 1950's. The history is slanted from his point of view but realistically accurate. My story moves alone with the trials and tribulations of all immigrant families dealing with both outside influences and the family's resistant to change. The one difference from most other immigrants was the lack of the language barrier. Although there were some who would dispute that.

This book I consider one of my best and most intense. The false truth about what's going on in our society, and the world, has gotten so ridiculous, that I felt I had to write this to advise believers and non-believers the truth as Jesus states in the word, in John 14:6 & 8:32. It was upsetting me that the truth was not coming from the politicians and from the pulpit. It took President Trump (thank God for sending him), to expose the corrupt state wide media, and the corruption in Washington D.C.I give the plain truth, from the word not only about the evil Demoncrats, but I also talk about subjects like religion, race, crime, etc. topics that most people will not talk about, because they are afraid there not "politically correct". I don't have to be politically correct; I have to be Biblically correct, this is Gods world, not Washingtons. I start off with Interest, which God meant for good, but man has corrupted it. Did you know that you can learn from a spider how to be closer to God and live a more fulfilled Christian life of discipleship? Did you know you can learn from the child and the dog about yourself? There are the three volumes on "Balance, The Spider and the Saint, When I look up, and the childrens book, "Charlie the Spider and friends. I wrote them differently then other books out there.
