Joyful is a grade six student in Canada. When her teacher assigns a history project she is not sure what she is going to do. However, along with her parents she sets out on a journey of discovery. On the way she learns about the world and especially about the people of West Africa. She is amazed with the variety of new smells, sights and sounds she experiences in Ghana. Most importantly she learns a lot more about herself.
