When the world of Nerïm is shattered by a powerful comet strike, the mercenary known as Haras the Halorcen is hired by an unknown wizard to bring the magical beings birthed from the comet strike to the wizard in the hopes of restoring Nerïm and resurrecting his wife.
Being tasked with such a mission would take its toll on any man. The allborn are powerful creatures of pure magic, able to do almost anything they put their mind to. But they are also new to the world. Newborns in need of a caretaker. And how do you raise a creature that could wipe you from existence with a snap of their fingers?

It was as if he had been sent to show her the world and how to survive it, but she only understood a fifth of his lessons. She wanted to know him, but for now that goal seemed out of reach.
The word ‘wrong’ echoed in her mind. She had disappointed him and he hadn’t spoken much since the village of Corde. Now and again he broke the silence with a simple fact about Nerïm, trying to teach Nair the language. She was desperate to properly tell him how sorry she was for the boy back at the village. She hadn’t intended to bring the boy pain, only life, but it seemed the two were intertwined with one another.
