A creative collection spanning over a decade that encompasses self discovery, deconstruction of traditional values, grief, and mental illness. Through stream of consciousness writing, in tandem with humor and personal observations, Freund conveys the human experience in a combination that is both intimate and widely relatable. Vibrant pallets and textures breathe life into abstract imagery that were inspired by the desire to visualize emotion. A multitude of works are products of processing depression and anxiety, while not grasping the illnesses were present. ABSTRACT was created as a vessel to articulate the period in early adulthood where a large amount of individuals feel unseen and are navigating life to survive while prioritizing everything else but themselves.
