Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi was an Urdu poet, writer of short stories, dramatist, journalist, and literary critic. He authored fifty books on art, criticism, journalism, poetry, and fiction. He was a well-known author of modern Urdu literature. His humanistic poetry stood out, and some people rank his Urdu afsana (short stories) second only to Munshi Prem Chand's portrayal of rural life.
