Bag om Back to Life
"Originally published in 1920. Back to Life is a war time novel based on the experiences of the author as a journalist. ________ About the Author: Philip Gibbs (1877-1962) was a British journalist, novelist, and lecturer. He is best remembered for his work as a war correspondent during the First World War. At the outset of war, Gibbs travelled to France to report for the Daily Chronicle. Gibbs was chosen as one of the five accredited correspondents for Allied Forces during the war. As a result of his contributions, he was made a Knight of the Order of the British Empire in 1920. He died in March 1962. In many ways Philip Gibbs is the archetypal male middlebrow writer of the inter-war period. Immensely prolific, he appealed strongly to the thoughtful decent middle class, worried about the way the world was going and wary of extremes."
