Bag om Baluchistan in the Passage of History
IN PERSIAN LANGUAGE Baluchistan in the Passage of History: An Essay and Expedition Notes from Grant, Hajee Abdun Nabee and Alexander's March. This book is in Persian and covers the area known as Baluchistan, which is located in both Iran and Pakistan. The book has been organized in four parts. Part one, includes an article by the editor "A Review of the British Imperial Policy in Relation to Baluchistan in the First Half of the 19th Century." Part two: "The Travel Notes of Captain Grant in 1809," is a translation of travel notes of Grant, an English colonial officer. Part three: "Hajee Abdun Nabee's Notes on his Tour of Baluchistan 1838-1839," is a translation of notes of Hajee Abdun Nabee, an Afghan businessman, who was instructed by a British colonial officer to gather information on Baluchistan. Part four: "Alexander the Great and Nearchus Expeditions from Gadrocia," is a translation of some parts of Arrian History on marching of Alexander the Great's army from Gadrocia which is very likely to be the Makoran area in Baluchistan. Introductions and extra notes have been added by the translator and editor, to place these historical texts in a more familiar context for the contemporary Farsi readers.
