The main themes of the Symposium were biodiversity in enclosed and semi-enclosed seas and artificial habitats, and the restoration of degraded systems. The papers dealing with the first theme represent current research and concerns about marine biodiversity in enclosed seas.

This interdisciplinary volume comprehensively reviews recent developments in wetland science and global change. The major strength of this volume is that it integrates several fields of research including climatology, hydrology, geomorphology, ecology and biology.
