Following many cases of suspected food poisoning in the Karamoja region of the Republic of Uganda, the meeting provided risk assessments for hyoscyamine and scopolamine, including toxicological and exposure assessment.

Identifies and quantifies some current and anticipated food safety issues that are associated with climate change, including foodborne pathogens and parasites, harmful algal blooms, pesticides, mycotoxins and heavy metals, with an emphasis on methylmercury. The book proposes some forward-looking approaches to help build more resilient food systems.
