The Performance Book provides additional songs written in a variety of styles to reinforce skills learned in the lesson book. This book may be used as a supplement to other guitar methods as well. All songs are suitable for public performance.
This book is supplemental to the FJH Young Beginner Guitar Method. Students may begin the Exploring Chords book at any time in their studies. Three-string chords are presented by chord name and guitar fingerboard (frame) only. Duet arrangements allow the teacher to play the melody while being accompanied by the student.
Lesson Book 2 provides a seamless transition from Book 1. It introduces three-string chords along with the natural notes on strings four, five, and six. Additional new concepts include eighth notes, chromatics (sharps, flats and naturals), pick-up notes, ties, and rests. Students are encouraged to strum chords to accompany the melody whenever possible. Many optional teacher duets are included. (Students may enjoy playing the teacher duet parts as well!)

Students will enjoy the full sounds of these chords along with pedagogically sequenced right-hand strums. Exploring Chords Book 2 makes the transition from basic quarter-note strumming to more involved strum patterns that encourage the student to explore chords!
