While freedom of expression is often understood through the lens of state censorship, she reveals the different types of obstacles that filmmakers face and their strategies for overcoming them so that those constraints are transformed into creative opportunities. The book analyzes the structural means by which stereotypes about Islam and women in the Islamic Republic in these narratives are privileged by news media and the creative industries, while also charting a growing number of 'counterhegemonic' memoirs which challenge these narratives by representing more nuanced accounts of life in Iran after 1979.
Little known in America but venerated as a martyr in Iran, Howard Baskerville was a twenty-two-year-old Christian missionary from South Dakota who travelled to Persia (modern-day Iran) in 1907 for a two-year stint teaching English and preaching the gospel. Emptiness is a key concept in Buddhism. Emptiness (Shunyata, in Sanskrit) does not mean Nothingness, it is not the negation of everything, it is not the extreme of nihilism. All phenomena do not exist in and of themselves, they are interdependent, they lack intrinsic existence. Each small object depends on the universe that sustains it to exist and on an endless causal chain. Everything is interconnected, it is the dependent origin of things, where nothing exists in isolation from the rest of the universe.However, the human being, because of his ego, sees external things in isolation and separated from himself. When everything that exists belongs to an inseparable causal chain. We suffer from an illusion of separation. When we open our mind to Emptiness, we understand that all phenomena are absent of intrinsic existence, including the individual self, then we understand the essential nature of what we are.

Unless we devote ourselves to teaching these doctrines, then: We need to apply laws, systems and practical equations that modify our material and economic reality and make it prosper with maximum efficiency.We have the same tools at our disposal as for the practices of Yoga and Buddhism: will, concentration, imagination, visualization, faith, positive and creative thinking. These are the forces that we must organize and orient ourselves in order to move towards success, to attract success towards us and not to run after it without ever reaching it.

In Tibetan Buddhist meditation we find first the effort of relaxation to immerse the mind in the clarity of mental peace and then in the clarity of wisdom through analytical meditation. The "I" is the root thought behind all thoughts. In meditation it is possible to isolate it and it remains the only witness of perception. By taking a step further and suppressing it, the cessation of the mind and the exit from Duality is produced, this is when one enters the plane of Nirvana. The technique is simple, it requires perfect concentration and relaxation. Difficult, but not impossible. The very cause of the mind, the root thought "I", is at the same time the exit from the state of conditioned existence to the Absolute. There is no practice or theory superior to this. As a child, Maitreya listened to the Om and perceived the spiritual eye in the ajna chakra. During his adolescence, at the age of 16, he had a decisive moment for his later spiritual life. He saw trillions of beings occupying the firmament and all in chorus were saying "Lord of Heaven, save us!". Then he wondered to whom they were speaking thus, and as he thought this his attention was seized by a divine force from on High. Suddenly he knew that he was in front of the Creator, he saw before him a source of intense light, unbearable to see from the front. Surprisingly, she heard a deep and sweet voice that said to her, "Son, you are Spirit". After these words were pronounced, the whole vision disappeared and the darkness of the night, illuminated by the stars, returned.

The light is within you, depend only on it and not on anything outside, nor on any other... Follow the path of the Dharma itself and no other, trust it and no other. Observe the impurities of your bodies and restrain your desires. Reflect that both pleasure and aversion are the origin of pain and suffering, therefore do not cling to them. Observe your soul and realize that there is no such thing as an ego in it, that your self is illusory. Restrain your attachments and thus detach yourselves from all sufferings. If you comply with all these indications, you are my worthy disciples. Practice fasting, prayer and meditation constantly and regularly, without ever abandoning asceticism. If you do this you will always be full of happiness. The most important thing is self-control of the mind, repress your desires and conquer yourselves. You must keep your bodies, minds and souls pure, for you depend on them for everything.
The Buddhist doctrine of Maitreya emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge and the awakening of Full Understanding, acquiring equanimity and the clear vision of wisdom, accessing a state of Samsaric Rational Nirvana, of Non-Duality within duality, transcending all suffering and selfish desire for personal happiness. In Emptiness, Full Peace of mind and Equanimity are more important than the intuitive powers of the soul.It is a matter of attaining Calmness of Mind and use of Pure Reason. Under the first system there is an interaction between the soul and God, under the second it is a philosophical state of the Self itself which, through self-knowledge, has succeeded in realizing its identity with the Absolute.This state of full awakened consciousness does not depend on ecstasy to develop, but on the capacity of ontological discernment, of logical reasoning. It is the product of analytical and applied scientific thought, being within the reach of anyone who exercises adequately the principles of the system of reflection of this aspect of the Root Reality.
