THE NEW WORLD FALLS INTO THE RING OF FIRE. ALL-NEW STORIES SET IN THE RING OF FIRE SERIES, EDITED BY NEW YORK TIMES BEST-SELLING SERIES CREATOR ERIC FLINT.In 1632, an unexplained temporal and spatial phenomenon known as the Ring of Fire transported the blue-collar town of Grantville, West Virginia, smack-dab in the middle of the Thirty Years War. When the dust settles, it becomes clear that the town of Grantville isn't going anywhere, and the can-do Americans of the twentieth century begin altering the course of history forever. Five years later, the effects reach from the Old World to the New, but the course of exploration and colonization looks much different than it did in our time line. The French bought the English possessions in North America in 1633, but didn’t do much with the uncivilized backwater, and now the new king of France, Gaston I, wants to seize the territory and establish French control over it. "Sarah Calhoun is the fifteen-year-old daughter of the Elector Andrew Calhoun, one of Appalachee's military heroes and one of the electors who gets to decide who will next ascend as the Emperor of the New World. None of that matters to Sarah. She has a natural talent for hexing and one bad eye, and all she wants is to be left alone-especially by outsiders. But Sarah's world gets turned on its head at the Nashville Tobacco Fair when a Yankee wizard-priest tries to kidnap her. Sarah fights back with the aid of a mysterious monk named Thalanes, who is one of the not-quite-human Firstborn, the Moundbuilders of the Ohio. It is Thalanes who reveals to Sarah a secret heritage she never dreamed could be hers. Now on a desperate quest with Thalanes to claim this heritage, she is hunted by the Emperor's bodyguard of elite dragoons, as well as by darker things-shapeshifting Mockers and undead Lazars, and behind them a power more sinister still. If Sarah cannot claim her heritage, it may mean the end to her, her family-and to the world where she is just beginning to find her place"--
"From award-winning author R. F. Kuang comes Babel, a thematic response to The Secret History and a tonal retort to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell that grapples with student revolutions, colonial resistance, and the use of language and translation as the dominating tool of the British empire. Traduttore, traditore: An act of translation is always an act of betrayal. 1828. Robin Swift, orphaned by cholera in Canton, is brought to London by the mysterious Professor Lovell. There, he trains for years in Latin, Ancient Greek, and Chinese, all in preparation for the day he'll enroll in Oxford University's prestigious Royal Institute of Translation--also known as Babel. Babel is the world's center for translation and, more importantly, magic. Silver working--the art of manifesting the meaning lost in translation using enchanted silver bars--has made the British unparalleled in power, as its knowledge serves the Empire's quest for colonization. For Robin, Oxford is a utopia dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. But knowledge obeys power, and as a Chinese boy raised in Britain, Robin realizes serving Babel means betraying his motherland. As his studies progress, Robin finds himself caught between Babel and the shadowy Hermes Society, an organization dedicated to stopping imperial expansion. When Britain pursues an unjust war with China over silver and opium, Robin must decide... Can powerful institutions be changed from within, or does revolution always require violence?"
"In "Tarrano the Conqueror" is presented a tale of the year 2430 A.D.-a time somewhat farther beyond our present-day era than we are beyond Columbus' discovery of America. My desire has been to create for you the impression that you have suddenly been plunged forward into that time-to give you the feeling Columbus might have had could he have read a novel of our present-day life."

2023 Update - Second Edition Available>In describing the Second Edition the author writes, "One point of great gratitude I must express is to someone I do not even know. In fact, this person, A. Kracht, gave a horrible yet very helpful review on Amazon when Volume 1 initially came out. In the movie business, like the TV industry, we test market products and can make some changes before a film's release. In Television, the "pilot" is used for this purpose and the genesis of some very successful shows are pilots that are radically different from a show's eventual run. As a film producer I was trained and therefore as a writer viewed comments about Volume 1 in the same manner - a great gift. Receiving feedback and altering the material accordingly can be, and has been for me, a rewarding experience and several great life lessons. I often think of the difference between the Seinfeld pilot and the show being a major hit as a prime example. In this respect, Volume 2 is written completely differently than Volume 1 and I think the book and the commercial product itself is better for it. So thank you to my anonymous reviewer and all those who gave comments." For the Second Edition please visit https: //amzn.to/3qJuMDN. Introduction>-Twenty year old Gertrude, daughter of the current "Mrs. Vanderbilt" and Cornelius Vanderbilt II, is torn between her sexuality and her parents' insistence that she be properly married to a man who will add social status to their ruling branch of the House of Vanderbilt. -Gertrude's first cousin Consuelo, daughter of Alva Vanderbilt and William K. Vanderbilt, is being forced into a loveless marriage with England's Duke of Marlborough. Alva believes that if Consuelo is the first American to become a European Duchess, both she and her branch of the Vanderbilt family will attain status equal to her nemesis, the reigning Mrs. Vanderbilt, and her longtime adversary, the current "Queen" of High Society, Mrs. Caroline Astor. -Gertrude's brother Neily Vanderbilt has been in love with Grace, of the House of Astor, since they were teenagers. Several years earlier, as the most sought after debutante, she was secretly engaged to Neily's older brother, William Vanderbilt heir apparent, who died while studying at Yale. Mrs. Vanderbilt threatens Neily, the next in line that marrying an Astor would mean giving up his birthright, along with the social status and the riches that would make him one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world. As the families' matriarchs and patriarchs rule and manipulate the lives of their offspring to achieve their own aims, their children will be forced to choose between love and independence or status and wealth. Seen through the eyes of an eighteen year old lady's maid, and written in the second person, the time-honored stories of these young women, their suitors and lovers, secrets and betrayals, are told through a fictional author who uses alternate history to share their struggles and pain with empathy and insight.
"The PLANET JESUS Trilogy is just CRAZY - in the most WONDERFUL and CREATIVE way. Highly recommended - a must-read!" -- Rod Lurie, director/writer/producer (KILLING REAGAN, COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, STRAW DOGS, RESURRECTING THE CHAMP, NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH, etc.) Gospels long attributed to such disciples as Mark, Matthew, John, Luke, Judas and even Mary Magdalene--some considered canonical by the church, others relegated to the margins of Christianity--reveal much about Jesus' youth until the age thirteen, as well as The Mission that consumed the final year and a half of his life. But there is no record of The Missing Years . . . until now. In this, the second installment of their PLANET JESUS trilogy, the father/son writing team of Douglas Brode and Shaun Brode present a carefully researched revelation of what might have occurred during the twenty-one lost years. As with Volume One, "Flesh & Blood," the authors present their findings in the form of a historical novel: A purportedly 'found' text, written by the gentle rebel who inspired a nonviolent revolution that changed the way of the world. No proof exists that Jesus committed a single word to print. Some experts argue that as an illiterate he had to be quoted by disciples. "Body & Soul" offers an imaginative speculation as to what an autobiography might have been like. The premise includes a recently discovered fact--Jesus had a twin brother, Joses--as well as a speculation that has never been proven or disproven, but is often raised in open-minded discussions of the most important being to ever walk the face of the earth: Was Jesus a woman? All books in the PLANET JESUS trilogy ("Hope & Glory," the third, will conclude this epic) draw heavily on Ancient Alien Theory: our planet was visited in pre-history by beings from another world (extra-terrestrials) traveling in flying saucers (Unidentified Flying Objects). Visitors from far planets were hailed by primitive humanoids as 'gods' and 'angels.' In truth, they were flesh and blood creatures with limited powers that exceeded those of early primates. When these Fallen Angels mated with prehistoric females, the resultant new race would move beyond Neanderthals and Cro-Magnon Man to become, in a Quantum Leap that defies Darwinian evolution, the first true people. The rare few descended from high-ranking Archangels were the Anointed Ones: Buddha, Confucius, Herakles and Jesus among them. Why was Jesus referred to as Christ, not a Hebraic term but Athenian? How is it that Jesus spoke of theological ideas unknown in Israel though significant in China, Japan, Africa, and India? If we assume the miracles actually happened, owing to clear records by multiple witnesses, here are logical explanations as to how Jesus walked on water, transformed water into wine, fed a multitude on a few loaves and fish, cured diverse maladies such as blindness, madness, and leprosy, even rose a man up from the dead. Previously these have been accepted on faith or rejected by doubters. PLANET JESUS offers a viable middle-ground between such extremes: a logical explanation as to how all these could have occurred in the reality that was Palestine, Year 31.
Many historians have called Franklin D. Roosevelt one of the greatest Presidents of the 20th Century. In 1933, FDR stepped into office and assumed responsibility for fixing the biggest economic mess in United States history-the Great Depression. His radical, untested and experimental New Deal programs offered hope to the citizens who had overwhelmingly voted him into office but frightened many rich and powerful people. The 1930s was the era of dictators and demagogues-from Adolph Hitler to Huey Long. FDR was a man of this time. Immediately, he declared a State of Emergency and issued Executive Orders or edicts, with the goal of reducing poverty, unemployment, and fear. He declared war on the failing economy. Many, at the time, thought the U.S.A. should become a fascist state-others wanted Communism. Walking the line in this tumultuous political environment was a challenge for the new president both figuratively and physically, for he was also the first President whose legs were totally paralyzed.FDR survived an assassination attempt just two weeks before his Inauguration. In 1934 the attacks continued. The survival of his presidency was not guaranteed. By the end of 1934, one conspiratorial attempt to take over his government had been exposed by Congressional investigation. Led by well-known zealous politicians and wealthy business interests, this plot to seize the White House might have succeeded if not for the courageous efforts of the rogue hero, General Smedley Butler, who blew the whistle on treason. Was this the only attempt? Or was the beloved President always only inches away from disaster? The Time Travel Twins and friends travel back in time to keep FDR in office and make the world of the future a better place by fixing the past.

I am an investigative journalist, the type of investigative journalist who questions everything and anything until near-concrete evidentiary support is provided to either support or disprove any given investigation. In my 20 years of reporting, I have done weeks and months of investigations into many different matters. The drawback from this field is that sometimes you will waste these weeks and months diving in head first into any given investigation only to find that the whole investigation is fruitless; either due to creditability and other factors which lead me to believe my curiosity is leading me down a rabbit hole. The hardest part of reporting authentic factual accounts is maintaining independence from influence, as most of the reporting today is heavily swayed by those who control the major media outlets. Without access to these major outlets, many investigative reports and findings get swept under the rug. Control of the media outlets and ability to suppress stories which don't support your agenda maintains the narrative. The narrative I'm referring to is the status quo narrative, a status quo narrative suppresses any story which threatens the status quo. When stories that are different from the status quo, major publishers require you to change the facts to support their narratives. If you don't change the facts, then they won't publish you. The story you are about to read is one that I wouldn't change one fact about. The subsequent chapters detail my series of one-on-one interviews with, a former S.S. Officer in Hitler's Army during the Second World War. His deathbed confession is one that has the power to disrupt the world as we know it today. A former righthand man to Adolf Hitler retells what truly happened in the Second World War and the biggest lie we have all been told since.
