This book presents the results of an ethno-psychological study of Mexican siblings which aims to contribute to the study of the relationships between brothers and sisters from the perspective of social psychology. Building upon the Mexican school of ethnopsychology, the study presented in this volume shows how psychosocial processes shape the relationships between siblings and how these relationships affect the development of boys and girls in emerging adulthood (between 18 and 25 years). The relationship between siblings is the first laboratory through which anyone who has a brother or sister learns to establish social relationships. Taking this into account, the study presented in this book analyzed 1240 emerging Mexican adults to identify the most important psychosocial variables that contribute to the establishment and development of sibling relationships. The most common reason for this is that they perform poorly innoisy environments. Machine learning presents a collection of powerful methods forattenuating noise in speech signals. Moreover, state-of-the-art hearing aids are beingdesigned with more powerful processors that can run machine learning algorithms.Several key factors make the deployment of machine learning to hearing aids challenging.Firstly, many state-of-the-art machine learning methods have high resourcerequirements (e.g., GPUs or large amounts of memory). Hence, these resource-intensivemodels cannot be run in real-time in low-complexity systems. Secondly, methods needto be causal (i.e., do not depend on access to future information). More generally,an issue is that the objectives that speech enhancement/separation models typicallyoptimise (e.g., L1 or L2) correlate poorly with perceptual quality.The goal of this thesis is to develop improved models for attenuating noise in speechsignals. Specifically, we aim to develop more principled models and better understandexisting frameworks. Overall, the objective is to develop low-complexity models forattenuating noise in speech signals.

The prohibition of drug use is an essentially modern phenomenon, based on an intolerant and repressive stance, a discourse of terror and punishment that ends up generating violence and suffering among users of illicit substances. We have shown through some theorists how ideologised discourses and practices place people who use illicit drugs as social enemies without considering the contradictions and risks to which they are subjected on a daily basis, as well as going in the opposite direction to the tendency of actualisation and potentialisation of the individual. This study is characterised as a qualitative bibliographical research. The study allowed us to understand that the phenomenon of drugs is complex and is part of the human condition, and that the only way to help broaden its meaning is through the policy of Harm Reduction.
