Diese drucktechnischen Erfahrungen ermöglichen einen erweiterten Handlungsspielraum im Fach Mathematik, indem auf drucktechnische Kenntnisse zurückgegriffen werden kann, um geometrische Formen, insbesondere Parkettierungen, zu drucken und mathematisch zu durchdringen. Die SuS lernen die "Knabbertechnik"kennen, stellen mit dieser Technik eine eigene Schablone her und nutzen sie für die Erzeugung einer Parkettierung. Auf der Grundlage der dabei erworbenen mathematischen Erfahrungen betrachten sie das Kunstwerk "Symmetry Watercolor 106 Bird" von M.C. Escher und bringen an dieser Stelle eigene Vorgehensweisen mit denen des Künstlers in Verbindung.

Vor allem der Wald ist für dieses Thema interessant, da er durch seine Komplexität zur Vermittlung einer Vielzahl van Kompetenzen und Inhalten dienen kann und der Naturferne vieler Heranwachsender entgegenwirkt. Da der Lebensraum Wald eine Behandlung mit potenziell allen Altersgruppen zuließe, beschränkt sich diese Arbeit auf den Biologieunterricht innerhalb des Fachs "Naturwissenschaften" in der Orientierungsstufe, also den fünften und sechsten Klassenstufen der weiterführenden Schulen. Viele der genannten Aspekte lassen sich jedoch sowohl für andere Stufen, als auch für andere Fächer (wie etwa Geographie), verwenden. Diese Arbeit soll werdenden sowie bereits berufstätigen Lehrpersonen die Bedenken und Unsicherheiten hinsichtlich außerschulischer Lernorte (und insbesondere dem Wald) nehmen. Sie dient als Informationsquelle, soll die Entscheidung hin zur Exkursion erleichtern und Werkzeuge sowie Hilfsmittel an die Hand geben, um im Unterricht Waldexkursionen erfolgreiche planen, durchführen und nachbereiten zu können.Während meiner Arbeit als Vertretungslehrer an verschiedenen weiterführenden Schulen fiel auf, dass nur wenige Lehrkräfte mit ihren Klassen regelmäßig außerschulische Lernorte aufsuchen, obwohl sich dies durchaus mit den Inhalten der Fächer sinnvoll kombinieren ließe. Hier kommt folglich die Frage auf, ob allgemeine Unsicherheit, ein fehlender Bezug zu den Lernorten selbst, mangelndes Wissen über konkrete Abläufe oder die Einbindung in den Lehrplan Grund für die augenscheinliche Abneigung außerschulischem Unterricht sind. Dabei wird Lernen immer häufiger an Orten fernab institutioneller Bildungseinrichtungen ermöglicht. Seien es Infotafeln an Denkmälern oder alten Gebäuden, ein Museum mit Artefakten aus der Vergangenheit oder Tafeln entlang eines Waldweges, auf welchen die heimische Flora und Fauna beschrieben werden - schaut man genau hin, lassen sich Lerngelegenheiten an allen erdenklichen Stellen finden und umsetzen. Die Tatsache, dass die Einbindung von Lehrausgängen in den Regelunterricht immer noch kein fächerübergreifender Pflichtbestandteil des Lehramtsstudiums ist, ist fragwürdig; zeigt doch die Empirie schon seit Jahrzehnten, dass dass das Lehren und Lernen außerhalb des Klassenzimmers für jeden Lerntyp äußerst effizient ist und Freude sowie Motivation am Lernen wecken und fördern kann.

Based on six-month fieldwork in a junior secondary school in Shanghai, this book qualitatively investigates the implementation of Teaching Research Groups (TRGs), a form of school-based Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in China, and teachers' different professional learning experiences within the structure of TRGs.The author situates teacher professional learning in TRGs within broader historical, social, and cultural contexts and further suggests that the practice of TRGs reflects the Chinese approach of balancing the seemly complex dualities (e.g., commitment and control, collaboration and authority, and individual and collective approaches) in educational settings. This book supplements the present knowledge base on PLCs in the context of China and thus enriches the global discussion on constructing effective PLCs for teacher professional learning.Scholars and students studying teacher professional learning and development, PLCs, school improvement, and Chinese schooling would find this book helpful.
