In many ways, Biden's economic policies have been disastrous for the country. However, in his tweets on his @POTUS ac-count on Twitter, he not only defends these policies but promotes them as being good for the country. But maybe worse than his economic policies is his promotion of sin and death and his hateful, divisive rhetoric.Biden promotes sin via his support of the sinful and destructive LGBTQ movement and of abortion. He also promotes sin by his endorsement of pagan holidays, while misrepresenting Christian and Jewish ones. He promotes death by his support of abortion and via his open-door southern border policies. The latter has led to the deaths of migrants and of Americans at the hands of those illegal aliens and by the influx of illicit drugs into the USA. He spews hate and division with his lie-filled rhetoric against "MAGA Republicans" and all who believe in conservative and traditional values. This series of five books provides the definitive record of Biden's failures in his first two years as President. These failures should not be forgotten, as they laid the foundation for his continual failures in his subsequent years as President. He has been failing miserably on both domestic issues and in foreign policy. Those failures are all chronicled in these five books.

This book reproduces tweets and retweets by Donald J. Trump from November 2, 2020, the day before Election Day, to January 8, 2021, the day Trump was permanently banned from Twitter. With that ban, this book will serve as a record of his final two months plus of tweets. This book also covers a controversial phone call by Trump and the major speeches Trump gave in January 2021. That phone call and those speeches expand upon his tweets. The tweets and retweets in this book are presented in chronological order. Most of the tweets are about the 2020 election. But some are about other topics. Those have also been included. Many of the election-related tweets were marked by Twitter with the disclaimer, "This claim about election fraud is disputed." I have not always included this declaimer, but it is important to remember. Many of Trump's claims in his tweets about fraud or irregularities in the 2020 election are indeed disputed. The same goes for Trump's claims in his Georgia phone call and speeches. This does not necessarily mean they are false. But evidence needs to be provided to support them, and that is lacking in many cases. In my comments, I will mention which grievances are valid, which are not, and which are difficult to determine their validity. I also provide background information for the tweets or comments as needed. But whether valid or not, Trump's claims of election fraud were said to have led to an insurrection in Washington DC on January 6, 2021. I call that event the "Capitol Building Uprising," for reasons that will be explained later. But here, reading this book will help the reader to decide if in fact Trump's tweets and speeches led to that tragic event.
This book critically examines why a human rights framework would improve the wellbeing and status of young people. It explores children¿s rights to provision, protection, and participation from human rights and clinical sociological perspectives, and from historical to contemporary events. It discusses how different ideologies have shaped the way we view children and their place in society, and how, despite the rhetoric of children's protection, people under 18 years of age experience more poverty, violence, and oppression than other group in society. The book points to the fact that the USA is the only member of the United Nations not to ratify a children¿s human rights treaty; and the impact of this decision finds US children less healthy and less safe than children in other developed countries. It shows how a rights-respecting framework could be created to improve the lives of our youngest citizens ¿ and the future of democracy. Authored by a renowned clinical sociologist and international human rights scholar, this book is of interest to researchers, students, social workers and policymakers working in the area of children's wellbeing and human rights.
"This haunting and propulsive debut follows a journalist's years-long investigation into his father's old classmate: former high school valedictorian Paul Volkman, who once seemed destined for greatness after earning his MD and his PhD from the prestigious University of Chicago, but is now serving four consecutive life sentences at a federal prison in Arizona. Volkman was the central figure in a massive "pill mill" scheme in southern Ohio. His pain clinics accepted only cash, employed armed guards, and dispensed a torrent of opioid painkillers and other controlled substances. For nearly three years, Volkman remained in business despite raids by law enforcement and complaints from patients' family members. Prosecutors would ultimately link him to the overdose deaths of 13 patients, though investigators explored his ties to at least 20 other deaths. This book is based on 12 years of correspondence and interviews with Volkman."--Provided by publisher.
In recent years, security actors have become increasingly concerned with health issues. This book reveals how understandings of race, sexuality and gender are produced/reproduced through healthcare policy. Analysing the plasma of paid Mexicana/o donors in the US, airport vomit in Ebola epidemics and the semen of soldiers with genitourinary injuries, this book shows how security practices focus upon governing bodily fluids. Using a variety of critical scholarship - feminist technoscience, queer studies and critical race studies - this book uses fluids to reveal unequal distributions of life and death.
The Politics of Gun Control is a gem: the unique case study that delves into a controversial topic students know something about--or at least have an opinion on--while raising important issues and questions about how the American political system works. Now in its fourth edition, this authoritative and fair-minded analysis of the gun control debate in the United States analyzes every important aspect of the controversy, including its history; the Constitutional right to bear arms; the criminological consequences of guns; and the role and impact of American governing institutions, interest groups, political parties, public opinion, and more. This fourth edition incorporates new research on the pro-gun control movement, the lapse of the assault weapons ban, Congress's enactment of liability protection for gun manufacturers, and renewed efforts to expand gun carrying and gun use at the state level, including, most importantly, the enactment of "shoot first" laws in over a dozen states. Whether it is used in American politics or public policy courses, this case study provides an engaging and clear-minded look at one of the most enduringly contentious and compelling issues in American politics.

First-of-its-kind study offering a model for understanding vice-presidential influence in the modern era.
This book offers a unique and timely contribution, informed by responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, to unpack the intertwined challenges that planning needs to cope with in the future. It argues that the pandemic and post-pandemic periods, in their successive waves of restrictions and social distancing, have disrupted ¿normal¿ practices but have also contributed to shaping a ¿new normal¿. The new normal is emerging, re-configuring, and prioritizing the substantive objects of planning and its governance and participatory processes. This book discusses this shift and presents a collection of episodes and cases from diverse European urban contexts to develop a new vocabulary for describing and addressing challenges, models, perspectives, and imaginaries that contribute to defining the new normal. The book is aimed at scholars interested in urban planning, sociology, geography, anthropology, art, economy, technology studies, design studies, and political science.
This handbook explores ways to unify the study and application of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) across multiple fields and disciplines, including clinical child and adolescent psychology, school psychology, pediatrics, social work, public health, education, and other health and human services. The book outlines a cohesive framework that organizes critical ACEs concepts throughout individual chapters, highlighting key issues and themes across settings and disciplines as well as gaps in current knowledge. Chapters examine interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to ACEs and their impact on health and well-being within a specific topic area or setting. In addition, chapters review the foundations and development of the relevant science and provide examples of ACEs research and intervention applications as well as suggestions for continued advancement in this field. Key areas of coverage include: Definition and measurement of ACEs. Theory and models guiding ACEs research and practice. Applications of ACEs science across settings, including healthcare, mental and behavioral health, schools, justice system, and child welfare system. Applications of ACEs to public health and policy issues. Prevention strategies and policy approaches to ACEs. Handbook of Adverse Childhood Experiences is an essential resource for researchers, professors, and graduate students as well as clinicians and related mental health and medical therapists and professionals in developmental and clinical child and adolescent psychology, school psychology, child and adolescent psychiatry, social work, child and family studies, public health, pediatrics, and all interrelated disciplines.
This book offers an original interpretation of Platös Laws and a new account of its enduring importance. Ballingall argues that the republican regime conceived in the Laws is built on "reverence," an archaic virtue governing emotions of self-assessment¿particularly awe and shame. Ballingall demonstrates how learning to feel these emotions in the right way, at the right time, and for the right things is the necessary basis for the rule of law conceived in the dialogue. The Laws remains surprisingly neglected in the scholarly literature, although this is changing. The cynical populisms haunting liberal democracies are focusing new attention on the ¿characterological¿ basis of constitutional government and Platös Laws remains an indispensable resource on this question, especially when we attend to the theme of reverence at its core.
Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) are a class of chemicals that are persistent, bio accumulative and toxic (PBT), which are restricted for use under the Stockholm Convention. They adversely impact the environment, human and animal health. Most of the POPs are semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) and known to have a long-range transport potential and are often deposited in colder climate and found in places away from the regions they are produced. POPs are usually hydrophobic (i.e., ¿water-hating¿) and lipophilic (i.e., ¿fat-loving¿) chemicals, due to which they bind to solids, particularly organic matter, and fatty tissues in both marine and terrestrial environments. As a result, POPs may move up the food chain. This book focuses on determining the sources, fate, analytical techniques of detecting POPs as well as their health impacts. It further dwells on the regulatory aspects, management of POPs, best environmental practices (BEPs), Indian and international case studies, gaps in understanding the regulatory aspects. A few key recommendations for the way forward form the concluding chapters of this book.
Although Trump supporters depict him as a champion of the working class and a friend of minorities, this text demonstrates that the preponderance of evidence indicates that Trump promoted a right-wing public policy agenda that exacerbated inequality, benefited the economic elite, and hurt low-income white workers and minorities.
The textbook introduces the self-understanding, institutional structure and practice of the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany. The work provides a problem-oriented overview of the basic constitutional and foreign policy decisions that have constituted German democracy; the political field of forces formed by interest groups, citizens' initiatives, parties and mass media; the political institutions at the federal, state and local levels; the social reach and administrative enforcement of political decisions; the political culture including the structure of the political ruling class. The new edition also addresses, among other things, the consequences of the Corona crisis for the political system, the changing party system and the crisis of the EU after the 2021 federal election.
This book sheds light on how Member States and EU neighbours relate to Russia. It includes their historical, financial and political ties, as well as the public perception of the national population vis-a-vis Russia. Each chapter builds on these factors to elucidate the country's position towards Russia and provides a prediction on the future of these relations. This volume shows the diverse relations that the EU member states and neighbours have with Russia, spanning from tense and confrontational to more eased and friendly, highlighting the contrasts between the national state and the EU as a whole. The book also presents the reader with concrete aspects in different policy areas, via recommendations on how single countries and the EU should deal with Russia. Russia's invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022 will change the relationship between the West and Putin's Russia for decades to come. No doubt that this blatant violation of International Law and the incomprehensible human suffering of Ukrainian citizens will massively change the attitude of the countries analysed in this book.
An urgent message of both concern and hope, The Perilous Fight by Dr. Ben Carson is a clarion call to reestablish the bedrock of our culture, our country, and our freedoms: the family.
