Im Gegensatz dazu wird in diesem Buch der Frage nachgegangen, ob Musik bei einem mit Anspannung erwarteten medizinischen Eingriff einen belastungsreduzierenden Effekt generiert (zu positiven Veränderungen in der psychischen und physischen Anspannung führt) und ob verschiedene Musikgenres ("Tanz- und Unterhaltungsmusik", "Musik zum Träumen", "Meditations- und Entspannungsmusik") zu unterschiedlichen Ergebnissen führen.
