In Which the Author Gives a Concise Account of, Together with Sundry Caustic Animadversions on, the Very Fantastic Theology of the Sect. This Treatise is Professedly Taken from the Writings of Justin, Miltiades, Iren us, and Proculus.
The Christian life demands both action and speech. Christians must, in the words of St. James, "live by the word, not content merely to listen to it." And St. Peter exhorts: "If anyone asks you to give an account of the hope which you cherish, be ready at all times to answer for it." The "Slow Motion" collections of Monsignor Ronald Knox take up these admonitions and provide indispensable assistance for the proper fulfillment of these Christian duties. Whereas The Mass in Slow Motion endows its readers with a clear vision of the liturgy and their necessary role therein, this volume, The Creed in Slow Motion, equips its readers to confidently articulate their faith. In the opening sermon, Knox links the Credo to the Confiteor to emphasize the fundamentally personal nature of faith. "It is always Confiteor we say, not Confitemur, even when we are saying it together. Why? Because my sins are my sins, and your sins are your sins; each of us is individually responsible. So it is with the Credo; each of us, in lonely isolation, makes himself or herself responsible for that tremendous statement, I believe in God." As a consequence, the one worthy of the grace to say Credo is also responsible for being ready to say it with proper understanding. Preached with the full homage of Knox's wit and intelligence, The Creed in Slow Motion is a certain aid for achieving that readiness.
Over two billion people in the world call themselves Christian. Yet how many of these people are truly born again? The Bible gives clear indication of who is a true Christian and who is not. Scripture encourages us to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith. In this book we will examine the word of God to see what it really means to be born again. Mark Boss is an Australian author living on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in tropical Queensland. Study of the Bible is his life's passion. To know and love our Creator and Savior through the word of God is his life's pursuit. After studying the Bible for decades, Mark hopes to share his knowledge with his fellow believers to encourage them and to ensure that they are on the narrow path that leads to eternal life.
Whereas, almost all Catholic moral theologians and ethicists do not have many problems receiving the negative judgment of Donum Vitae on heterologous artificial insemination and regular IVF as procedures of generating human life, only few find it difficult and unacceptable for the Simple Case IVF to be proscribed because they consider it less problematic. The Catholic Scholars who express dissent against the evaluation and conclusion of the Magisterium on the Simple Case seem to suggest that the destruction of human embryos and the use of a donor constitute the only problem of this procedure. But their reasoning can be considered inadequate because it fails to understand the theological and moral basis for the dignity of human procreation. The fact that the Simple Case IVF violates the principle of inseparability of the conjugal act by seeking the generation of human life outside of the conjugal act makes it intrinsically illicit and unacceptable for human procreation.
Education is the symbol of the modern era. The contemporary system of education has emerged as an outcome of the fast industrial development of recent centuries; factories needed workers, and these workers had to gain some special skills to work with machines. In the course of time, various new professions appeared which required developing new skills and abilities. Besides, the old approach to knowledge was transformed into the Baconian approach, knowledge is power. To know means to control, to be able to act properly. Whereas prior to F. Bacon knowledge had been perceived rather as wisdom (important principles related to how to live righteously, or how to avoid dangerous situations, etc.) than as an instrument for achieving certain goals, the modern times established the principle of knowledge as power. Only by knowing the world which surrounds them, human beings are capable of controlling it. This principle was not the only one emerging in modernity. The modern era brought about a special feeling of optimism about mankind's future. It envisaged our common future as times of universal social equality, nice and pleasant jobs, reconciliation and peace at the international level. Philosophers like Descartes, Kant, Hegel, SaintSimon, and others preached that the intellect is the main human instrument for achieving eternal peace and common well-being. Cartesian rationalism (the philosophy of Descartes) aspired for comprehending the universal truth, the truth which would unite the whole of mankind and overcome all religious divisions.
American Worldview Inventory 2022-23 offers a groundbreaking study of the worldview of American parents and pastors-and its findings are devastating for the future of our nation. We're seeing a worldview crisis among today's parents. The research shows that 2/3 of parents of preteens claim to be Christian, but only 2% actually have a biblical worldview. A stunning 94% of parents hold a muddled worldview known as "Syncretism." And very few parents even have the worldview development of their children on their radar. And the worldview picture among American pastors isn't much better. Only 37% of all Christian pastors-and only half of Evangelical pastors-have a biblical worldview. And the least biblically centered pastor, by a substantial margin, serve as Children's or Youth Pastors. The bottom line? Those most responsible for worldview education are woefully ill-equipped for the task.Veteran researcher Dr. George Barna shares his many findings, but he also points the way forward, identifying the "must haves" when it comes to restoring the worldview of our nation-"The Seven Cornerstones of the Biblical Worldview." And he shows us where to start-with the nation's children and their parents.
International knowledge transfer in religious education (RE) is still a fairly new topic. Many scholars in the field consider this discussion of prime importance for the future of both the academic discipline of religious education and the related school subject RE. This book continues this discussion and specifies it in the direction of teacher education. Its focus is on the challenges that teacher students and their trainers are facing in the light of RE in a pluralized and detraditionalized society. The impact of these challenges on RE research is obvious. However, international exchange of research results for purposes of comparison and mutual enrichment is still rare. This book provides insights that can encourage and facilitate this exchange.

The story of "Peter the Praying Mantis" is designed to bridge the gap within the faith community by highlighting one sacred commonality in all faiths: the importance of PRAYER! Intended to teach children the power and purpose of prayer, this is an inspiring story for children of any faith or denomination. The purpose of this story is to promote diversity throughout the faith-based community. Despite the differences children may have regarding their faith, through the example modeled in "Peter the Praying Mantis" they will learn how to embrace diversity and respect others. This story provides an exciting opportunity for children of all ages to connect and learn from each other, regardless of their faith.
The sacred stories of the Holy Scriptures are of immeasurable value. They carry the message of the Good News, that God sent his only Son into the world to be our Savior. These sacred stories contain intrinsic power within themselves to convey their message directly into the heart. Handle carefully, they are alive and give life!Telling the sacred story begins at home, for the child's first teacher is their parent and their first textbook is the Bible. "Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the LORD swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth." (Deuteronomy 11:18-21) As the body of Christ the Church also shoulders the responsibility of teaching these truths. In some traditions the baptismal service includes a question to the congregation, "Will you who witness these vows do all in your power to support these persons in their life in Christ?" The answer is clear and strong, "We will!"The sacred stories are not being told to our children. The prophet Hosea writes, "my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge." (Hosea 4:6) Only a single generation sustains the transmission of our faith and it is our responsibility to tell our children. Our Lord said, "...when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:8) Our purpose is clear; our mission is right; we have been given the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, therefore we cannot delay. Tell the Good News! The Kingdom of God is here and now! Change your mind and believe the Gospel. Amen."Bible Plays for Children" provide another way communicating the sacred stories to our children. Hearing the story or reading the text has tremendous value and cannot be diminished in any way, however acting out a story takes the message even further into the heart. Children learn by imitation and are innately capable of role-play. A child with a toy truck becomes a firefighter or with a small doll assumes the role of a caregiver or with a simple stick becomes a major league baseball player. In the time and space provided by most churches for Christian Education there is a unique opportunity to communicate with our children the sacred stories of Scripture. Within the environment of a normal classroom, simple props and imagination can transport the child to a manger in Bethlehem, Jesus feeding the 5000, being with Lazarus in the grave and knowing that Jesus is no longer in the tomb but alive again and forevermore. The capacity for learning while acting out the story cannot be overemphasized. It is a powerful teaching tool. Children learn by doing.

Ephrem the Syrian was a Syriac Christian deacon and a prolific Syriac-language hymnographer and theologian of the fourth century. Ephrem is especially beloved in the Syriac Orthodox Church, and counted as a Venerable Father (i.e., a sainted Monk) in the Eastern Orthodox Church. His feast day is celebrated on 28 January and on the Saturday of the Venerable Fathers. He was declared a Doctor of the Church in the Catholic Church in 1920.
The Proslogion (Latin Proslogium; English translation, Discourse on the Existence of God), written in 1077-1078, was written as a prayer, or meditation, by the medieval cleric Anselm which serves to reflect on the attributes of God and endeavours to explain how God can have qualities which often seem contradictory. In the course of this meditation, the first known formulations of the ontological argument for the existence of God was set out.
In a world focused on selfish consumption, how can Christians seek to experience life to its fullest? After connecting deeply with a verse in Acts 20, John Lotz discovered a principle that transformed and continues to transform, his Christian thinking and living. From this, John believes Christians can find what it means to truly run the race set before them and run it well. Packed with personal experiences and biblical insights, The Transforming Principle shows how to move a static existence to an everyday, joyful experience of God's love, blessings and grace.
I asked God, "Could it be this simple?" And God said, "YES, it's just that simple."After a lifetime of organized, legalistic religion, I desperately needed to get to know God personally. But how could I get the false teachings out of my mind? I tried reading books, but things only got worse. I was so lost, and that scared me.But God kept telling me to "just" read His WORD. Although we are all familiar with the Bible and its verses, stories, and teachings; I realize now that knowing these things; although important; is not the key to the supernatural Power of God's Word. The actual Power lies in something Only God can give through His WORD.God's Word IS alive and can change anyone willing to read and study it daily. God only needs our willingness to trust and have faith in Him; to accomplish great blessed things in our lives. It's time for all of us to wake up and put on the WORD in every part of our lives by reading and equipping ourselves with a greater understanding. We are now entering a "fullness of time," and God needs us to take the Power He intended for us to have and rule the earth. The WORD is our power. When we speak it, things change! Learn everything in The WORD as if your life depends on it; BECAUSE IT DOES!This book is the beginning of my Come Alive Series. I hope it will inspire you to dig deeper into the Power of God's WORD.
Athanasius of Alexandria (/¿æ¿¿¿ne¿¿¿s/; Greek: ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Athanásios Alexandrías; Coptic: ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ or ¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿; c. 296-298 - 2 May 373), also called Athanasius the Great, Athanasius the Confessor or, primarily in the Coptic Orthodox Church, Athanasius the Apostolic, was the 20th bishop of Alexandria (as Athanasius I). His on-again-off-again episcopate spanned 45 years (c. 8 June 328 - 2 May 373), of which over 17 encompassed five exiles, when his episcopate was replaced on the order of four different Roman emperors. Athanasius was a Christian theologian, a Church Father, the chief defender of Trinitarianism against Arianism, and a noted Egyptian leader of the fourth century.
Tertullian, the african church father, states his primary thesis that "The principal crime of the human race, the highest guilt charged upon the world, the whole procuring cause of judgment, is idolatry."
The Holy Spirit is on the move throughout the Church! In this groundbreaking new book, Bishop Scott McCaig brings much-needed clarity to the important topic of charisms in the life and mission of the Church. He reveals how charisms are part of God's plan for the whole Church and for each and every Christian, and are the means by which we fulfill the great commission Jesus has given us. This short but comprehensive book provides a rich guide for anyone desiring to understand or deepen their experience of God's gifts. "A well-researched introduction to the Church's teaching about charisms, their missional purpose, and their powerful impact. Bishop McCaig addresses crucial issues: the relationship between the charismatic and hierarchical dimensions of the Church, charisms and discipleship, and the role of every Christians in the essential task of discerning charisms."-Sherry Weddell, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Catherine of Siena Institute

When evil nightmares invade the waking world, Lily assembles a team of family, friends, and displaced guardians of the Realm to save the earth.
"The oak can develop itself, the lion feels its strength through its nerves, but the human has sunk down to the delusion that nature is too stingy towards him, and had only given him alone no positive powers and no innate growth. The human has like any other creature his peculiar stamp; when he does not blur this, he gets to know nature and himself. But when he loses it, then he can indeed play with words and expressions learnt by rote, but he will obtain no sparks of pure knowledge and truth. The truth of humanity is based on the consciousness of immortality!"To show how to obtain the consciousness of immortality, Krebs describes by way of examples a form of letter mysticism composed of the concentrated thinking and feeling of letters through the parts of the body.
Breaking the Altar of Emotional Abuse reveals the spiritual war against women and their destinies. After reading this book, women will understand that Satan manipulates them with lies spoken through the people closest to them. A trauma bond is the divine connection between Satan's lies and God's truth. Verbal attacks, mental manipulation, and emotional rejection are all expressions of the trauma bond that is birthed out of the evil altar of domestic abuse. In addition to this connection, there is a demonic power at work to keep women bound by fear and trauma. This book unveils emotional abuse as a demonic altar and exposes the strongholds, wicked spirits, and identity crises associated with it. In this written work, Tara Jones-Roberson uncovers how she identified emotional abuse, how it impacted her life, and how she overcame it. Tara details her experiences in key relationships while guiding readers to emotional and spiritual freedom. "Anger provokes words. Words provoke emotions. Emotions provoke actions. Words Matter!"
Paul Luckraft's new book explores the Hebraic nature of the teaching of Jesus and shows how a first-century rabbi spoke to other Jews of the time and in particular taught his disciples. What can we expect to find from such an exploration, and what can this mean for us today?
