The Dre & Shayla Series continues with book two, I Need What They Got. Dre's whole life has changed since he had that awesome encounter with God. He and Shayla are now officially dating and even their mothers are becoming good friends, but little does Dre realize, that there is a cost to his freedom from the drug game and everyone around him is at risk. Abdul had not forgotten how their relationship ended and spends every waking moment thinking about how he will get revenge. Shayla's godmother, Delores, has an accident which is a precursor to a series of other events in Dre, Shayla, Sandra, and Connie's lives. Gina is still in prison, trying to find a way to prove her innocence, while Kevi is looking after Josh. Since taking on this new role, Kevi begins to think he wants out too, but he's too afraid of Abdul's wrath. Marka, Gina & Josh's mother, makes a rare appearance in Josh's life but finds that she needs to take care of herself before she tries to resume a life with her son. Shakkur, Abdul's son, enters the picture, and through a strange turn of events, becomes an admirer of Dre. To Abdul, this is treason, but he has to move cautiously around his son in order to keep him under his control. Meanwhile, Mia has recruited her brother AJ to help her with a devious plan of deception, which may lead her to a place she never intended to go. I Need What They Got takes this tale to a whole new level of deception, betrayal, and ever-abiding faith. The twists and turns come when you least expect them and will leave you breathless as you turn each page.
"A trauma-informed therapist's personal account of religious abuse, intergenerational healing, and recovering spirituality"--
Growing up as a regular Sunday School attender, I was intrigued by angels although it never occurred to me that they might really be with me wherever I went. The Quiet Christian tells my story of how that changed for me in the early 1970s. From that point on, I have experienced the assurance of knowing that God is with me and that His army of angels are my constant companions. Several miraculous life events convinced me that I am never really alone. During the marvelous life-changing events that I share in The Quiet Christian, I began to experience the presence of God more intimately and wondered, "Why me? Why doesn't everyone have similar experiences with angels?" Based on my own real-life experiences, I believe that everyone has God's army of angels at their disposal. As you read this book, you may discover that, like me, you have been ignoring this blessing for far too long. I encourage you to entertain the thought that God can use angels to guide us and that you will embrace the supernatural instead of believing that it can't happen to you.

Matthew Mead's profound work, "The Almost Christian Discovered," delves into the core of faith, shedding light on the vital distinction between authentic devotion and a mere profession of belief. In this enlightening exploration, Mead addresses a crucial concern that resonated with 17th-century Puritans striving to develop genuine personal piety.Mead's insights offer a crucial perspective on the deceptive nature of equating public observance with private conviction. He challenges the notion that mere outward displays of faith amount to genuine belief, emphasizing that faith devoid of deep conviction holds no true substance.Rather than condemning those he refers to as "almost Christians," Mead's intention is compassionate-to awaken them to genuine righteousness before God. His analysis aims to shake complacent souls out of convenient self-deception, guiding them toward earnest self-reflection through the transformative power of God's grace. With eloquence and clarity, Mead explains how individuals often wear the facade of faith out of habit or with the hope of worldly rewards, oblivious to the superficiality of a belief that hasn't penetrated the depths of heart and mind. This tendency toward hypocrisy, as Mead argues, is a universal stumbling block on the sacred path of spiritual development.Centuries later, Mead's text remains relevant for those seeking enlightenment on the journey toward a reconciled relationship with the merciful Creator. "The Almost Christian Discovered" serves as a timeless guide and a compelling call to honesty and wholehearted devotion. By shedding the weight of pretended piety, individuals open themselves to be filled with glorious light, walking in new life with Christ, their waiting Redeemer.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee and ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.Jeremiah 1:5Ye have not chosen ME, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, HE may give it you.John 15:16

What mortal can comprehend the passage of the threshold into the unknown? The author presents us with the analogy of the shepherd and the sheep, tracing in detail the pilgrimage of man in this life.As he walks, she leads you to learn to listen to the rhythmic sound of His staff on the stones to assure you of His comforting presence. Using this allegory, Celsa Rocha teaches you how God welcomes you as an untouchable guest at His table amidst the dangers of the desert. He marks you with goodness and love the passing rests, the long paths through the valleys and mountains of this life. On the deathbed, in every verse of Psalm 23, many have received enlightenment and strength during the crossing of the final phase of the journey to eternity.
The view that I see is beyond me.They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth. The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall he shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dryshod. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt. (Isaiah 11:9-16 KJV)Everyone has divine purpose!

Book Eight considers the present state of our world, here at sundown on the sixth day. Eternity lies just ahead. The Knowledge of Good and Evil begins with the state of today's society and how far it has wandered from the scriptures. It ends with inspirational studies from the word of God and from science. Sin, first introduced in the Garden of Eden, has had six thousand years to grow, ferment, and corrupt the souls of men. What we now see is the end product of sin. Thank God His holy word endures, as do truth and the church. At the foundation level of all humanity . . . from all time . . . rests this bedrock sense of right and wrong. This law of God is etched upon our innermost being. One can find its tentacles throughout the formation of man's laws, governments, and judicial systems. Search any civil law, common law, royal law, state and federal law, canon law, and even primitive tribal law. Despite their many differences, in each of them murder and mayhem are wrong; adultery, lying and stealing are wrong. Cheating and grifting are wrong. They all share this common link in the law of God written upon every man's heart. And it is from that hidden law that conscience selects her sermons as we encounter life's crossroads. I dare say that from criminal to pastor, all do hear the sermons. But like a packed Sunday morning church service, the majority enjoy and ignore the sermon, and head straight to a restaurant.(About the Author)Randall Glenn is retired and lives in Jonesboro, Arkansas. His book was written so that men might repent and turn to God before it's too late.
"A voice under those deep muddy waters sternly said, 'You are going to drown.' ... In my confusion, another voice said to me, 'Take your feet and put them where your head is, and take your head an put it where your feet are ... and swim as fast as you can.' I had to put my trust in something, and so I obeyed the voice."In an inspiring story of listening for the voice of God above all else, Pastor Donell Morgan shares his story of hearing The Call. From his troubled background on the streets of New Orleans to his ministries throughout the Southeast United States, Pastor Morgan shows that God has a plan for even the most confused souls if they are willing to open their hearts and embrace the gifts and glory of God.
And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd. -Ezekiel 34:5 (KJV)"Scattering is a result of the absence of a shepherd. Destinies become fragmented in the absence of a shepherd, and visions are destroyed because of the absence of a shepherd. The primary goal of this book is for you to receive the Lord into your life as the Shepherd, the Good Shepherd, the Chief Shepherd."Secondly, there is a need for a clear understanding among believers that the absence of growth in our walk with God means the presence of decay in our spiritual life. Growth is required, healthy growth is essential, and consistent growth is a necessity in our walk with God."Your current level is never the final level of Christian growth. There is always more to God than your current place or position in Him. LET'S GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL!" - Emmanuel Umosen
The Greek term that Matthew uses to quote Jesus's call for us to be perfect is the same word used by St. Paul and St. Peter in their letters which we translate as mature. St. Paul tells us we are called to the "complete measure of the stature" that belongs to Christ: spiritual, emotional, moral, and intellectual maturity. How do we get there? Our Lord also teaches we are to be forgiving "seventy times seven times." Does anyone find that easy? We are also called to examine our own consciences to discover if we need to "leave our gifts at the altar" and go and make amends. Now there is a challenge. In this book, Fr. Tuohey uses Scripture, the writing of the early church fathers, his professional experience, the Twelve Steps of AA, and his personal struggles with Jesus's call to perfection to share the insights he has gained. They are shared here in the hopes it might be helpful to others as well.

The salvation found in Jesus Christ of Nazareth was not only meant to be Hell-fire Insurance. God planned for us to carry on what Jesus started with this race we are running.

Painful Passage, Joyful Journey is the narrative of my personal experiences as viewed through multiple lens: the six-year-old child so violently wretched from a loving family by the murder/suicide of her parents, the little girl who lost her big brother as they were physically and emotionally separated for life, the decade of abuse in the house of a relative, the wounded adult confronting the past in order to have a future, the healed survivor reexamining six-plus decades of lies and betrayals, and in the midst of it all, the constant presence of a loving God.
