From Dr. Stephen Skinner and the Golden Hoard Press comes a historical grimoire that features a fascinating blend of high magic and local village magic. Originally a handbook for a working sorcerer, this book includes a wealth of magical workings in addition to a treasure trove of critical astrological information, including a unique set of astrological tables that are generally absent from other grimoires. Going beyond the planetary days and hours, A Cunning Man's Grimoire reveals detailed aspects of timing and magical operations connected with the 28 Mansions of the Moon and image magic, which rarely appear in Solomonic grimoires. This practical manual of magic is strongly influence by Arabic and Indian roots, placing it at the crossroads of several powerful magical streams.

This monograph begins with a puzzle: a Babylonian text from late 5th century BCE Uruk associating various diseases with bodily organs, which has evaded interpretation. The correct answer may reside in Babylonian astrology, since the development of the zodiac in the late 5th century BCE offered innovative approaches to the healing arts. The zodiac-a means of predicting the movements of heavenly bodies-transformed older divination (such as hemerologies listing lucky and unlucky days) and introduced more favorable magical techniques and medical prescriptions, which are comparable to those found in Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos and non-Hippocratic Greek medicine. Babylonian melothesia (i.e., the science of charting how zodiacal signs affect the human body) offers the most likely solution explaining the Uruk tablet.
This Grimoire represents the embodiment of divinity from the primal temples of the serpent goddess Ulak Na Leviahtan. Offering an extensive praxis though the ancient ancestral cult and its points of ingress, through an initiatic system of 7 astral gates focusing into sinister alchemy and dream path sorcery as principal points of nexus to the transmission of the sacred arte revealed here.Hidden epistles and automatic litanies ilumines the adept to reach the neither- neither sphere of translucid reality through the cult of the black serpent.

Peter J. Carroll is one of the founders of the Magical Pact of the Illuminates of Thanateros (IOT) which he led for a decade. He has spent thirty-five years in research and experiment and is the author of three other books: Liber Null & Psychonaut, Liber Kaos: the Psychonomicon, and Psybermagic. This book of interviews reveals the extraordinary life and adventures and thoughts of one of the world's most exceptional antinomian thinkers. It contains much that may intrigue, surprise, amaze, and outrage the reader on a very wide range of topics.Peter J Carroll developed the Theories and Practices of Chaos Magic which caused a revolution in magical and esoteric thinking in the last few decades of the twentieth century, and they continue to heavily influence it in the twenty first century. As the first in a new tradition of Sorcerer-Scientists, Carroll developed a paradigm in which Magic lies far closer to Science than to Religion. He formed a worldwide magical order to promote and develop the new insights into magic and then largely disappeared from public view to procreate and to build a business empire and continue scientific and metaphysical research in private. This book of interviews reveals the extraordinary life and adventures and thoughts of one of the world's most exceptional antinomian thinkers. It contains much that may intrigue, surprise, amaze, and outrage the reader on a very wide range of topics. The appendix contains Carroll's Hypersphere Cosmology thesis which presents a radical alternative to the big-bang theory, and which has, so far, resisted all attempts to falsify it. In Washing Rituals from Bulgaria Georgi Mishev, PhD explores the power of water and magical plants in traditional washing rituals still used in the Balkans today. In Bulgaria, these rituals combine water from powerful natural sources with the magical properties of herbs - and other objects. Practitioners utilize these rituals to treat 'known' and 'unknown' diseases for their clients. For example, traditional healers use washing rituals to treat fever, infertility, epilepsy and childhood illnesses, as well as to manage fear, calm children, break magic and avert the evil eye. Additionally, problems attributed to the zmey and samodivas, local nature spirits once revered in the region and remembered today in folklore and song, are also treated with washing rituals. Inspired by stories his grandmother told him as a child of these rituals Mishev set about investigating these fascinating rituals in Bulgaria today. In this booklet he presents personal observations, transcripts of interviews with traditional healers and magicians, as well as related ethnographical records. Georgi Mishev, PhD is a Bulgarian author and researcher of ancient culture and religion of the Mediterranean world, with a focus on magic practices, rituals and ancient relics in the folklore of the Balkan people. He has a bachelor's degree in Russian and German, and a master's degree in Preservation of the cultural-historical heritage in the Republic of Bulgaria (master's thesis on the subject Thracian material and immaterial cultural-historical heritage in the region of Thracian cult centre Starosel) and doctoral degree in the field of cultural-historical heritage (PhD thesis on the subject Bulgarian traditional culture as an information resource about the magica in ancient Southeastern Europe).
The Rosicrucians burst upon European consciousness some 400 years ago with the publication of three 'manifestos', causing consternation throughout the continent and promulgating ideas that remain potent to the present day. The Fama Fraternitatis tells the story of the enigmatic C.R.C. who journeyed to Jerusalem and thence to fabled Damcar in Arabia, where he sought, and was instructed in, the sacred knowledge of the sages. Returning to Europe by way of Egypt and Fez, he founded a fraternity to both freely heal the sick, and to spread the mystical teachings throughout the world. Such were the 'The Brothers of the Rosy Cross'. The Confessio Fraternitatis is in essence both an extension and a justification of the brotherhood's spiritual beliefs and earthly aspirations as described in the Fama. A New Dawn was heralded, which would bring the 'Reformation of Mankind'. This was heady stuff, revolutionary for its time, and proclaimed at the height of the Inquisition's powers. The manifestos set many cities and towns in a ferment. Less revolutionary in tone, and the longest of the three documents, The Alchemical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, is sometimes considered merely as 'Fantasy Fiction', but is regarded by those with deeper spiritual knowledge as a detailed allegorical description of mystical initiation. Rosicrucian Dawn is required reading for all those who hope to understand the founding philosophy that lies behind the 'Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross', its offshoots, and many of today's New Age beliefs.
2018 Reprint of 1801 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition, not reproduced with Optical Recognition software. The book was originally published with three books in a single volume, as was common with many texts of this period. All three parts are included in this facsimile. It facilitated the modern revival of magic by making information from otherwise rare books more readily available. It may have influenced novelist Edward Bulwer-Lytton and occultist Eliphas Levi. When first published in 1801, The Magus presented a complete study in the practice of ritual magic. It was compiled by Barrett from many different occult sources, such as Agrippa's work, the Heptameron, and various manuscripts of The Key of Solomon, in response to renewed public interest in magic and the ancient, classic texts. As such, it was the first readily accessible English translation, or republication, of rare occult works, and was fundamental for many exploring the Western magic tradition at the dawn of the Victorian Occult Revival. Contents include: Book I covers: Natural Magic -- the occult properties of animals, minerals, and vegetables; including the preparation of charms, potions, "monsters", and sorcery; alchemy -- the Philosopher's Stone and how to make it; transmuting base metals into gold, the origin and history of alchemy including famous alchemists; the nature of the elements, the spirit world, planets, numerology, astrology, and talismanic magic.Book II covers: the occult powers and uses of magnetism, including an essay on the Weapon Salve; and a comprehensive study of the cabala and ceremonial magic; includes divine names associated with cabala; use of the cabala to contact, summon, and bind spirits; names and descriptions of good and evil spirits along with the numbers, characters, and seals associated with them; construction of magic circles; and ceremonies of consecration, invocation, and conjuration.Book III is a compilation of biographies of famous magi, cabalists, and philosophers, such as Zoroaster, Albertus Magnus, Doctor Dee, Raymond Lully, and others.
