Representa un legado a proteger frente a un modelo que expulsa al hincha y cuestiona su sagrado vínculo de pertenencia.>ENGLISH DESCRIPTION A manifesto against soccer as a business, and in defense of the fan. This book is an argument in favor of the identity in the bleachers. It is a manifesto against the homogenization imposed by television and the market. No, your team is not a global brand nor a luxury product. Soccer is a cultural, social, family, and even aesthetic heritage. It represents a legacy we must protect against a model that bans the rooter and questions his sacred sense of belonging. Alejandro Requeijo, veteran journalist and participant in the inquiries into Luis Rubiales' management at the head of the Spanish Royal Soccer Federation, or the disclosure of Florentino Pérez' conversations, makes this a true declaration of principles about what the love of soccer really is, and points at the culprits who have contaminated the most beautiful sport in the world.
This is the story of Charles Hoffman "Hopper" Kennedy. He became a high school football and basketball coach in the early 1920s. He worked his way up the ladder by working with each of his players to help each of them to believe in themselves to become the best they could be and to help them form into a team. He would scout the teams he would be playing--sometimes going to their school to see the plans they were working on to defeat him. His big break came when they hired him at Lynch, Kentucky. His team had nineteen shutouts in a row, twenty-seven shutouts in three seasons. He was chosen to coach the all-star game of 1942 in Kentucky and won the game. He had two players go to the NFL: #8, Harold Mullin, tackle, 214 lbs., six feet three; and #27, Joe Hollingsworth, running back, 189 lbs., six feet two. Hopper did this at thirty-nine years old. He also played semipro basketball from 1926 to 1928 where he won the MVP for being the center. He got his nickname Hopper in college when he played world billiards champion. Willie Hoppe started calling him Hopper. He then went to Lockport, New York, to coach high school football and basketball. He turned both teams into having a winning season. He talked to each player for hours past the practice into the night. By doing this, he formed the foundation of building his players into champions. That method won the games.

Sports Psychology is one of the new upcoming sciences at the present time. This practice focuses on training athletes to use their mental capacities along with their physical talent to reach what is known as peak performance. Athletes those are without having good sports psychological skills and having only physical talent means nothing at all. Psychological Skills are the mental qualities or abilities which are determinant for the purpose of enhancing performance, increasing enjoyment, or achieving greater sport and physical activity self-satisfaction in the competitive sports. PST program helps the athletes to have tremendous abilities to psych themselves up for competition to manage their stress; to concentrate intensely and to set challenging but realistic goals, to have the ability to visualize themselves being successful and then doing what they visualized as a part of training and to excel in the world of competitive sports (Murphy & Tammen, 1998). A great deal of research effort has concentrated on attempting to predict performance from psychological variables. Through evidence it has been proposed that sport psychologists can develop athletes' performances by enhancing their psychological skills sideways. Some of the most important mental skills are competition anxiety, motivation, goal setting, relaxation, visualization, self-talk , self-awareness and control, concentration and confidence (Robert S. Weinberg and Daniel Gould, 2003). Among these PSTs, we treated only competition anxiety and sport motivations.

The National Football League that celebrated its first Super Bowl in 1967 bore scant resemblance to the league of its obscure origins. In its earliest years, the league was a ragtag collection of locally supported small-town teams that generated attention only in the locales in which they played, if they were lucky. Many teams received no support at all. Only after enduring a slow, often treacherous, journey did the enterprise of professional football reach its position as the king of the sports world by the late 1960s. In From Sandlots to the Super Bowl, Craig R. Coenen recounts the NFL's ascension from a cash-strapped laughingstock to a perennial autumn obsession for millions of sports fans. It offers an in-depth summary of the NFL's early years and its struggles to build an identity. This book shows how the fledgling NFL of the 1920s and 1930s attempted to build support both on a local and national scale. Considered a sport of hooligans and lower-class athletes, professional football paled in comparison to the reputations of competing sports such as college football and professional baseball. Even more difficult for the league, developing civic support for franchises proved an almost impossible task. Teams would spring up and disappear overnight, generating hardly any notice among sports fans.Coenen shows how the league's survival depended on small town franchises being able to tap into the civic pride and larger economic interests of nearby, growing urban centers. This book also details how the league faced challenges from rival leagues, the government, and at times, itself. Finally, it documents how the NFL mastered the use of new technologies like television to market itself, generate new revenue, and secure its financial future. This book approaches the history of the National Football League not only with stats and scores but with what happened beyond the gridiron. Starting in Canton and Massillon and ending in Los Angeles with Super Bowl I, From Sandlots to the Super Bowl offers an entertaining and absorbing look at the first five decades of America's most popular professional sport.
