This book has been produced to coincide with the 150th anniversary of Gloucester Rugby and includes details of all of the 5156 matches (3106 won,1706 lost and 344 drawn) played by the Club from the very first on 4 October 1873 up to the end of the 2022-23 season. It also includes a summary of every season and team photographs for most seasons. The contributors to this book are all trustees of Gloucester Rugby Heritage, a charity run by volunteers and supported by Gloucester Rugby, the Gloucester Rugby Foundation and Gloucestershire Archives. Join Stell and her team - the Mighty Hammers - as they try to navigate being young, free and single in a bustling London. Oh, and they play rugby too. Well, not "proper" rugby, as according to them, they are just a "social" team, which traditionally involves as much drinking, bad behaviour and as many romantic liaisons as they can fit in before the next match. Well, that's what they thought at the start of one memorable season...Written by Milton Stephens, ex-rugby player and coach, Don't Let Them See You Cry tells the story of Stell and her friends' personal development over the course of a year where, through collective will, sheer bloody-mindedness and a determination to NOT BE TOLD who they should be, they finally confront many of the issues in their personal relationships that they never even knew they had. As well as getting to smash, both on and off the field of play!"

"Carl Hayman, All Black 1000, once the most highly prized player in world rugby and a giant of the game in every sense - someone who was always respected, even feared. But at the end of seventeen years as a professional rugby player, the last eight played with the sole aim of setting up his family's future, Hayman's life began to unravel. In Head On, Hayman relives a remarkable rugby career, living out his boyhood dreams and fast-tracked into the All Blacks at 21, playing in a world cup and then moving to Europe where he became one of the best-paid players on the planet. But this book is also about the pressures on the modern athlete, where physical performance and commerce collide and players become victims of their own success"--Publisher description.

Leinster - one of the most successful and influential Irish sporting teams of all time. Established in 1879, they boast a dazzling roster of players, past and present, including Brian O' Driscoll, Johnny Sexton, Jamie Heaslip, and current captain James Ryan. But there is so much more to rugby in Leinster, and, for the first time, this book compiles its rich history, from its foundation, through the amateur years, to the club's many spectacular championships in the twenty-first century, when the national love for rugby kicked up a gear. Doolin ruminates on the sport's relationships with politics and class, and of course celebrates all the breathless victories enjoyed by Leinster teams at every level. And success doesn't stop with silverware; since the nineteenth century Leinster Rugby has been influencing the spheres of education, business and politics throughout the province and the country as a whole. Nothing reflects the complexities of politics and identity in Ireland more than rugby. A History of Rugby in Leinster is a vibrant celebration of sporting greatness and of Leinster's enduring commitment to teamwork, integrity and community.
