Den beskriver golfspillets lange historie og mange traditioner, fra spillets oprindelse på fårehyrdernes enge langs de skotske kyster frem til i dag, hvor det er en af verdens mest udbredte idrætsgrene. Spillets særlige regelsæt og udstyr gennemgås, og man kan læse om hvordan man bedst og hurtigst kommer i gang med golfspillet.Et særligt kapitel er helliget en kort, men indgående instruktion, der giver læseren nyttige tips til at oparbejde et godt golfsving, som er grundlaget for utallige herlige timer på golfbanen. Bogen beskriver de største og mest kendte golfturneringer, de såkaldte majors og Ryder Cup, og den store danske turnering, Made in Denmark, der for første gang blev afviklet i Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort i august 2014 med mere end 80.000 begejstrede tilskuere.
