"Balancing Monolithic Mastery with Microservices Magic" is a concept that pertains to software architecture and development practices. It addresses the challenge of finding the right mix between two contrasting approaches to building and managing software systems: the monolithic architecture and microservices architecture.Monolithic Mastery:Monolithic architecture is a traditional approach where an entire application is built as a single, self-contained unit. All components and functionalities are tightly integrated into a single codebase, and the application runs as a single process.Monolithic Mastery refers to the deep understanding and expertise in building and maintaining monolithic applications. Developers who excel in this realm are adept at creating efficient, reliable, and scalable monolithic systems.Microservices Magic:Microservices architecture is a modern approach where an application is broken down into smaller, loosely-coupled services that communicate with each other through APIs. Each service is responsible for a specific part of the application's functionality.Microservices Magic signifies the ability to design, deploy, and manage a microservices-based system effectively. Those who master this approach understand the complexities of distributed systems, scalability, and the flexibility offered by microservices. The concept of "Balancing Monolithic Mastery with Microservices Magic" suggests that, in the real world, there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to software development. Instead, the ideal solution often involves striking a balance between these two approaches. Here are some key considerations:Legacy Systems: Organizations with existing monolithic applications might need to maintain and evolve these systems. Therefore, they need experts who can master monolithic architecture to ensure these systems continue to function efficiently.Scalability and Flexibility: New applications or components within an existing system may benefit from a microservices approach, enabling easier scalability and adaptability to changing requirements.Hybrid Solutions: Sometimes, a hybrid approach is best. You can use microservices for certain components while maintaining a monolithic core. This balance ensures both performance and flexibility.Team Expertise: The expertise within the development team plays a crucial role in deciding which approach is suitable for a particular project. If your team is skilled in microservices, you may lean in that direction, and vice versa.Project Requirements: The specific requirements of a project also influence the choice. Some projects may demand the isolation and independence of microservices, while others might require the simplicity of a monolithic approach. "Balancing Monolithic Mastery with Microservices Magic" is about recognizing that the best software architecture is situational. It involves selecting the right approach or a combination of approaches based on the project's unique needs, the existing infrastructure, and the team's expertise. The balance between monolithic mastery and microservices magic is the key to building robust, scalable, and maintainable software systems in today's dynamic and diverse software development landscape.

Bayes Factors for Forensic Decision Analyses with R provides a self-contained introduction to computational Bayesian statistics using R. With its primary focus on Bayes factors supported by data sets, this book features an operational perspective, practical relevance, and applicability¿keeping theoretical and philosophical justifications limited. It offers a balanced approach to three naturally interrelated topics:Probabilistic Inference - Relies on the core concept of Bayesian inferential statistics, to help practicing forensic scientists in the logical and balanced evaluation of the weight of evidence.Decision Making - Features how Bayes factors are interpreted in practical applications to help address questions of decision analysis involving the use of forensic science in the law.Operational Relevance - Combines inference and decision, backed up with practical examples and complete sample code in R, including sensitivity analyses and discussion on how to interpret results in context.Over the past decades, probabilistic methods have established a firm position as a reference approach for the management of uncertainty in virtually all areas of science, including forensic science, with Bayes' theorem providing the fundamental logical tenet for assessing how new information¿scientific evidence¿ought to be weighed. Central to this approach is the Bayes factor, which clarifies the evidential meaning of new information, by providing a measure of the change in the odds in favor of a proposition of interest, when going from the prior to the posterior distribution. Bayes factors should guide the scientist's thinking about the value of scientific evidence and form the basis of logical and balanced reporting practices, thus representing essential foundations for rational decision making under uncertainty. This book would be relevant to students, practitioners, and applied statisticiansinterested in inference and decision analyses in the critical field of forensic science. It could be used to support practical courses on Bayesian statistics and decision theory at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and will be of equal interest to forensic scientists and practitioners of Bayesian statistics for driving their evaluations and the use of R for their purposes. This book is Open Access.

The gyratory bed is a highly viable piece of equipment due to its efficient fluid-particle contact and high heat and mass transfer rates in industrial operations. An efficient way of studying the operating behaviour of the equipment at lower costs is to use computational tools whose function is to verify and analyse the best performance of this equipment in the face of a requested operation. One of these tools is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), as it is able to simulate the characteristics of the system with good correlation to the real process. The aim of this work was to verify, by means of CFD simulation, the fluid dynamic behaviour of a conventional gas-solid gusher bed on a bench scale. The simulations showed a profile of the fluid-dynamic flow dynamics inside the bed, which was established by measuring the pressure drop in the bed and the gas velocity for different types of particles. The fluidisation operating regimes of the bed were obtained from the porosity profiles generated and the position of the particles in the bed was obtained from the position-velocity graphs.

The aim of this book is to describe the development stages of the website Sistema de Análise Temporal de Doenças em Plantas (SiTemp), available at [http://sitav.pga.uem.br]. The web tool is aimed at agronomists, who have technical and scientific knowledge of the temporal analysis of diseases. Registration information and data observed in the field or laboratory on the severity of plant diseases are stored in the SiTemp database, generating a history, which, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques, processes the observed data using the Logistic, Monomolecular and Gompertz mathematical models, choosing the model that presents the best solution to explain the data set and calculating the temporal analysis and the shape of the Area Under the Disease Progress Curve (AACPD). The result of the temporal analysis is generated in the form of texts, variables, tables and graphs, and it is the agronomist's responsibility to analyze the information, which will serve as a technical-scientific basis for their final decision on crop management. Keywords: Web, disease management, epidemiology.

This book examines the current status of mHealth development, regulations and the social background in Japan, South Korea and China, comparing it to the situation in the United States and the European Union and consider solutions to issues surrounding mHealth. The recent progress in mobile technology, represented by smartphones and smart watches, has been remarkable. A service called mobile health (mHealth), which uses such mobile technology to manage health, is also becoming a reality. Although the accuracy of medical devices is not as accurate as those used in medicine, the biometric information such as heart rate and SpO2 can already be monitored over a long period of time. Although the technology is maturing to the point where it can be implemented in society, it remains an unapproved service of medical care in most countries. The development and social implementation of mHealth is most active in the US, but social implementation is gradually progressing in other countries as well. In this book, we will first discuss what kind of global and harmonized regulations are desirable by comparing the regulatory reforms necessary for social implementation of mHealth. In addition, mHealth raises privacy concerns in the US because the usual behavior and biometric information of subjects is utilized by private companies. In addition, it is important to note that the behavior and biometric information of subjects collected by smart devices is automatically analyzed by AI technology, mainly machine learning, which makes the analysis a black box.

People's work and life in smart spaces use computer systems; it is a process of uninterrupted interaction between people and the computer system. In this process, the computer is no longer just an information processing tool that passively executes explicit human operation commands but a collaborator with people to complete tasks - a partner to human beings. International research on smart spaces is quite extensive, which shows the important role of smart spaces in ubiquitous computing research.
