Nadabindu and Dhyanabindu Upanishads comprise Volume 5 in the Yoga Upanishad series. These Upanishads focus on meditation on the bindu, the source point or origin of individual creation, where begins the primal sound or first vibration, the mantra Om. They define and describe in detail the mantra Om, the effects of meditating on it until one attains perfect liberation, merging with the Divine.Nadabindu states that always meditating on Om, the yogin is liberated from worldly life, unaffected by his/her karmas. The nada is first heard through the right ear, and many other inner sounds are heard. Eventually the yogin hears no other sounds and transcends duality.Dhyanabindu, an expansion of Nadabindu, recommends many practices including mudras, bandhas, bija mantras and raising kundalini shakti.This volume includes a foreword on the life and teachings of Swami Satyadharma, who passed away while writing her commentary on Dhyanabindu.
Yoga Tattwa Upaniṣad is Volume 2 in the Yoga Upaniṣad series. Volume 1 is Yoga Chudamani, commentary by Swami Satyadharma, published by Yoga Publications Trust in 2003.Yoga Tattwa Upaniṣad is an ancient treatise of 142 verses which deals with the philosophy, systems and practices of yoga. It is a significant integration of Vedānta and Tantra, expounding important topics such as mantra yoga, laya yoga, haṭha yoga, raja yoga, and the four stages of yoga. The text discusses particular practices of yoga: nāḍīśodhan prāṇāyāma, kumbhaka, bandhas, mahāvedha, khecarī mudra, viparītakaraṇī mudra, vajrolī mudra, and amarolī. It further discusses the five tattwas, or elements of creation: earth, water, fire, air and ether, and provides detailed instructions on how to meditate upon and realize these elements and their associated powers.Included in the text are the original Sanskrit verses, transliteration, word meanings and translation by Ruth Perini, as well as a comprehensive commentary by Swami Satyadharma Saraswati.

The aim of this thesis was to explore the implementation of the mental skills training programme My Strengths Training for Life¿ (MST4Life¿) delivered to young people experiencing homelessness. After reviewing the literature in Chapter 1 and providing an overview of the underpinning research philosophy and methods in Chapter 2, Chapter 3 investigated the extent to which MST4Life¿ was delivered in the intended delivery style using observations and facilitator self-reflection forms. Informed by and building on findings from Chapter 3, Chapter 4 presents a systematic review that examined process evaluations of positive youth development (PYD) programmes for disadvantaged (or at-risk) youth. The systematic review examined the quality of the studies, methods used and barriers and enablers that these studies experienced in implementing PYD programmes to this population. Chapter 5 explored the extent to which MST4Life¿ was delivered in the intended style from the perspective of programme participants through thematically analysing diary room entries. This chapter also explored the challenges and barriers to young people's engagement in MST4Life¿. Chapter 6 examined the feasibility of a study protocol designed to investigate the extent to which the training was delivered as intended to frontline service staff implementing MST4Life¿. In this study, pre- and post-training data from training recipients were also collected to examine outcomes of the training and to enhance understanding how the training was implemented. Overall, this thesis makes a novel contribution to the discipline of sport and exercise psychology by highlighting the importance of conducting process evaluations to investigate the implementation of programmes or interventions. This thesis also makes vital contributions for frontline services supporting young people at-risk of or experiencing homelessness, demonstrating key programme components to promote young people's engagement as well as providing evidence that it is possible to train frontline service staff to deliver psychologically informed programmes with fidelity to delivery style.

Shandilya Upanishad is the sixth volume of the Yoga Upanishads series. The ¿¿¿¿ilya Upani¿ad is connected with the Atharva Veda. It commences with the yogin invoking R¿ma to guide him along the eightfold path of yoga to liberation.In the first verse of chapter one, ¿¿¿¿ilya asks the Lord Atharvan to instruct him in the eight-limbed path of yoga, with the aim of reaching the true Self. ¿¿¿¿ilya himself was a Rishi with many disciples, and was the progenitor of the ¿¿¿¿ilya lineage. Atharvan was a Vedic rishi, who, together with Angiras, is said to have revealed the Atharva Veda, and was the first to perform yagña, fire oblations. The first two sections describe the foundations of yoga, yama and niyama, external and internal restraints. Section three describes the eight ¿sanas, which, as well as having physical, mental and energic benefits, prepare the body for sitting still for a long time in meditation without discomfort. Later sections describe the fourteen main n¿¿¿s, ten v¿yus, mäipura cakra and ku¿¿alin¿ of the subtle or pranic body. The methods of purification of the n¿¿¿s are described in great detail, as purification is considered necessary for the higher stages of concentration (dh¿rä¿) and meditation (dhy¿na). The prerequisites for yoga practice are listed. A meditation on agni mä¿ala is given. Pr¿¿¿y¿ma is defined as AUM, and the practice of n¿¿¿ ¿odhana pr¿¿¿y¿ma with emphasis on kumbhaka and the effects of the practice are described in detail.Teachings are then given on khecar¿ and vai¿¿av¿ mudr¿, control of pr¿¿a, awakening ku¿¿alin¿, säyama, praty¿h¿rä, dh¿rä¿, dhy¿na and sam¿dhi. The necessity of both yoga and jñ¿na for liberation is emphasised. Chapter two has sections on knowledge of Brahman, creation of the universe, the names of Brahman, and Datt¿treya.
