An illustrated journey through modern surf culture guided by the international surfers and communities that define its inclusive and passionate nature.Epic photography brings the stories of a unique group of global communities, and the surfers that represent them, to life.Told in their own words, some of the world’s most exciting professional and freestyle surfers—at different moments in their careers—introduce the influential figures, places, and waves that have shaped their lives, and their surfing. From Ireland’s rugged and unforgiving west coast to the famous beaches of Oahu, Hawaii, making stops across six continents along the way, Breitling provides a unique and unexpected window on the modern surf experience. The sport’s inclusive spirit is what inspired the iconic watch brand—a champion of surf culture and maker of timepieces for ocean pursuits since 1957—to highlight surf’s wider community with a book dedicated to the sport’s diverse characters, unexpected outposts, and collective culture.Based on interviews with surfers about the local communities they call home, The Breitling Book of Surfing is as much an in-depth travelogue as it is a beautiful photography book. It is for long-term surfing enthusiasts and newcomers alike, exploring the common values and passions that shape this diverse and dynamic global community connected by the ocean.

Part Time Nomads: Traveling the World by Bicycle, is part memoir, part travelogue, and one hundred percent ode to taking on crazy challenges no matter your age or life situation. The book focuses on our evolution from weekend cyclists to fully loaded, self-contained cycle international bicycle travelers. Averaging eight miles an hour, we braved rain and snow and junk food, learning hard lessons about bad maps, road-hogging motor homes, and the unpredictable road ahead.Mile by mile, our endurance and ambition increased. Soon we ventured further afield. Being together 24/7, attempting things we'd never done before, wasn't always easy. Our friends thought we were crazy, but loved our tales of plunging into icy rivers, singing to ward off bears, and tossing salad in a grocery bag. The people we met, in campgrounds and dive bars, were as memorable as the places.Animating these stories is the incredible rush of getting places under my own steam, being self-reliant, and re-learning that Jim and I worked pretty damned well as a team, reigniting a passion not only for cycling, but for each other.

In Geography of Hearts, Jim Crawford records his observations and experiences as he and new wife, Cathy, trek across the U.S. on bicycles, camping gear and supplies packed in panniers. The mission of their 1996 honeymoon excursion is to travel at a leisurely pace, allowing the wonder of this country to authentically reveal itself. Fast-forward twenty-six years. Jim and Cathy retrace their route in a 2014 Prius, accompanied by their 12-year-old Airedoodle, Jetta. This time, Jim journals on his reflections and comparisons between the two trips. While revealing the vast countryside and introducing the reader to people they meet along the way, Geography of Hearts is more than a narrative about bicycling. It captures a spiritual essence of acknowledging and succumbing to the beauty of each day's here-and-now. It speaks to a couple's love of life, each other, and the country they encounter. It is their snapshot of America, as they mark milestones, joy, conflicts, and epiphanies along their journey.

This isn't an ordinary journey. Old enough to know better, Kenneth Wilson sets off to cycle from Hadrian's Wall to Rome - with a cello on the back of his bike. Every day en route he makes music - at impromptu as well as formal concerts, busking, and just responding to the people and events of each day. Highway Cello is about the 1800 mile journey through England and France, over the Alps and into Italy, and the music and the mishaps along the way. But it's about more than that too. Through the medium of travel and cello, of encounter and exhaustion, of people and places, Kenneth unpacks the real questions of what life is really all about.

Walking Hadrian's Wall, Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway takes you on my walking trek along Hadrian's Wall and across England in the late summer of 2022. I walked along the famous Hadrian's Wall built in AD 122 by Emperor Hadrian. Over a period of 10 days, I crossed the country. Starting on the east coast at Wallsend I walked to Bowness-on-Solway on the west coast. The journey has been recreated with watercolor illustrations and daily descriptions of the adventure.
