But what is a community without people, you may ask? A group of familiar Washington faces make an appearance between these covers. A cast of unforgettable personalities include: Dr. O. L. Muench, "Ma" Brown at her family shoe store, KLPW personality Frank Lohmeyer, Mr. Julius Rettke from Mo Meerschaum, and Elmar, the "Boss Jeweler". They were all very special people, living in a unique town. There is also a look at Mayor Bleckmann in the 1939 Centennial Parade. Gallenkamp's drugstore and the Old Dutch are in the background. These nostalgic drawings were created as a salute to a wonderful place. Have fun and enjoy old memories and new sights.
