Bag om Café con Leche
Tyisha is a biracial girl growing up in the segregated south. She suffers racism from both whites and blacks. After the loss of her mother, she is relegated to living in the home of grandparents who do not love her and she must endure the lecherous actions of her grandfather. Likewise, Jeremiah is a biracial young man who is tolerated by his fellow citizens of Madisonville, Alabama, only because of his athletic talent. This unlikely couple does not meet until they are teachers in the upper Midwest. They each possess plenty of hatred and anger from their childhoods, but individually they become Christians and the "God who is love" slowly changes them into lovers of one another and their fellow man. Only after lengthy preparation, they are finally ready to be used by God for his glory and become missionaries to an indigent people group in Peru. This is the story of how God changes us; the Apostle Paul, a killer of Christians, becomes the first missionary in the Christian era. Tyisha and Jeremiah are changed from angry and hostile people into servants of the living God. God can change everyone of us, no matter where we start.
