The threat to the packs up North is still very real. When Harlin calls a meeting, suggesting they position witches at each of the five packs, it's because Brynlee has seen an attack coming. Eldrick has already tried once to expose the Free Paw Pack to the public and failed.
Expecting to be assigned to a pack she has already lived with, Sarina is surprised by the announcement that she's going to the Free Paw Pack instead of the Blue Rock Pack. Paired with Carter, she will defend whatever pack she's assigned to.
Her disappointed reaction just makes the Free Paw Pack Alpha angry, not the best way to start a possibly long-term collaboration.
