Corpus Delicti - William Cook - Bog

- Selected Poetry

Bag om Corpus Delicti

Corpus Delicti: Selected Poetry is a collection of some of William Cook's best poetry from the past twenty years. "Psychology is the bleeding heart of the horror genre, and Cook's poems enter into that dark realm of madness; poems shift and explore the processes of fragmented minds, becoming malleable and twisted. If we can work with the idea that poetry is not a thing, then we can adjust to the idea that the realm inside of a human mind cannot be completely defined or understood-not completely. We have psychology to quantify the chemical processes; if we can know everything that can possibly be known about the human mind, then we become predictable machines that fall into archetype-personalities. I would argue there is something at stake for our species if we can finally understand everything that possibly be understood about our minds; there are places we dare not look, and William Cook takes us there. If poetry can be anything at all, it can be truth, and truth is often too much for us to bear. Cook is never afraid to show us the origins of personal madness and terror, nor is he afraid to find the truths that we want to understand, but are afraid to." - Vincenzo Bilof, Author of Visions of a Tremulous Man & The Violators
