Doug is also a single parent of a six year old daughter. He lives in Minnesota, but visits often. Eventually, he and Jill become good friends, bonding over being single parents of small daughters. When his child care situation falls apart, he implores his mother to return home to Minnesota. Because he is a pilot for a private jet company, he often needs overnight care for his daughter.
