In the midst of these larger conflicts, Kirsten has discovered the mythic sword Fahde, once used to end the chaos of First Dawning, and must now travel to the edges of the world to learn how to wield its power. She has a father to cure, a mother to save, and a realm to preserve. Her journey will drive her from Longwood to the Salt Isles, from Graniteside to the sweeping sands of the Topaz Sea, and even to the crystal gates of Xlaesin itself.
