However, Deirdre falls in love with a young warrior named Naoise and they flee to Scotland to escape Conchobar's wrath. Despite their efforts to live a peaceful life, Conchobar eventually discovers their whereabouts and convinces Naoise to return to Ireland with Deirdre. Once they return, Conchobar betrays Naoise and has him killed, leaving Deirdre to suffer alone. Yeats' play explores themes of fate, love, and betrayal, and is known for its beautiful language and vivid imagery.
