Proposing new perspectives on artistic production in Mexico between 1952 and 1967, Defying Stability looks at the diversity of the country's postwar visual arts against the backdrop of its broader social and economic shifts. This period saw the formation of new educational institutions, the emergence of alternative cultural spaces and a cross-pollination with European, North American and Latin American avant-gardes.
