John Colson aged 25, is invited out to Mexico to teach in a local school owned by his Godfather, Don Carlos Manuel Fermin, a wealthy and powerful businessman. For the first four months, all goes well for the young idealistic teacher, but when John is the only witness to a brutal murder, it is not long before he realises that he has no one to turn to; no one he can trust.
