"Recycling Jimmy is energetic, imaginative, relentlessly and unabashedly vulgar, and at times, funny enough to make a cranky reviewer laugh out loud. This belongs on every eccentric fiction fan's short list of oddball black comedies..." Booklist A bungled, hilarious suicide attempt gives birth to the darkest of business plans; to choreograph spectacular suicides and film them for sale on DVD. Danny's fed up. Young and impatient he can't understand why his life is taking so long to get started. And the biggest pain in his over analytical butt? A love life that makes Mr Bean look like a whore banging sex god. So it is that a cynical and clinical Danny decides to take the risk out of dating and devise a score card for evaluating potential partners. In spite of the protests from Sally (his chubby girl pal back at the office) and the clumsy assistance of his ever present best pal Sam, Danny's scoring system soon roots out that 'special' someone to complete his dream; Geraldine is bright and pretty and ticks all his boxes. Things couldn't be going better for the young couple but when a violent explosion at work blows away Danny's superficial values all that's left is an innocence that challenges every decision made so far in his quest for happiness.
Frank Carter has never taken the time to understand women. And why should he? After all, he's middle aged, happy and very settled. But when his marriage unexpectedly ends, an analytical Frank starts to wonder why he didn't see it coming. Realising that (if he's ever going to be able to trust himself in a relationship again) he needs to know more about how women work, Frank sets about unravelling the rules of engagement. But will the insight gained from prying into the comic yet troubled lives of his three closest friends be enough for him to entice and hold on to the beautiful Jane?
As a boy, Cristian Chevalier was comfortable with the idea that Mother Nature had set humanity at the top of the food chain. But as a young man, abandoned by his father following the death of his mother, something strange is stirring within him that has a darkly different view of the world. Evolution's true intent slowly reveals itself until Cristian is faced with a dreadful choice. Should he succumb to his true nature and join the ranks of the Silkie (an ancient and powerful entity set to inherit the earth) or should he fight for the human heart that he's pledged to Rose?
Jimmy's had enough. It's been a year since his 'suicide for profit' business folded and his dream of running a support centre for the Manchester down and outs isn't living up to expectations. So when his Recycling Centre is closed down it's no big deal but what to do now? Jimmy soon applies his unique talent for the twisted and the dark to set up Last Laugh Limited, a company with only one product: revenge. With the help of Kevin and Wanda, Jimmy sets about doling out retribution on behalf of anyone who fancies exacting a more sophisticated type revenge on ex-wives or dodgy business partners. But when he crosses paths with Billy King, Manchester's renowned and ultra violent crime boss, Jimmy learns the hard way that Karma can be a very fickle mistress!
Liam is breezing through life. Not even a national lockdown can phase him and why would it? He can simply sit it out; watch the world go by from the safety of his apartment balcony. It's a good plan and it would have worked too had it not been for the bearded homeless guy hanging out on the park bench below.
