Le Smanie per la Villeggiatura L'opera si estende sull'arco di un'estate. Leonardo, per esibire una ricchezza che non ha, intende recarsi in villeggiatura con l'amata Giacinta a Montenero (all'epoca località prediletta dagli abitanti di Livorno per villeggiare), ma il padre di costei, Filippo, invita anche Guglielmo, rivale in amore di Leonardo. Come se non bastasse, altri inconvenienti rallentano la partenza. Risolte queste prime incomprensioni, al termine delle Smanie Leonardo firma una promessa di matrimonio con Giacinta e tutti partono per la campagna. Durante la villeggiatura, tra giochi, pettegolezzi e bagordi, Giacinta si innamora di Guglielmo, spacciandolo per spasimante di Vittoria al fine di giustificare la sua frequente compagnia. La commedia si conclude con il matrimonio di Leonardo e Giacinta, che non aveva la dote che il marito si aspettava, e di Guglielmo e Vittoria, infelice per l'amore dello sposo per Giacinta.
