This book is a story about 5 teenage boys who are so fascinated with Black History that they start dreaming that they are taken back into major historical events in Black History, by standing on a huge green rock.
An enchanting story about a young boys journey to overcome the hurt from bullying and discover his inner strength and self worth. The story is an eloquently written rhyme, with the main character, a relatable young knight. The young knight is confronted in the forest by a nasty monster who wants to tease and taunt him with mean words. The knights journey takes a turn when he meets the Fairy Queen and she bestows new wisdom on the young knight, giving him the confidence to face the monster with the truth and not believe his lies. The moral of the story is; words can not change what is true. Someone could tell you "your skin is blue" 1,000,000 times, and it would not turn blue, yet, sadly children will believe harsh words spoken over them as the truth. In My Skin is Not Blue, the young knight learns the truth about his character and the words of his foe can no longer impact him. The protagonist also comes to the realization of the error of his ways.A beautiful story sure to delight, entertain and be read over and over. The phrase "My Skin is Not Blue" could one day be as commonly used as "The boy who cried wolf."
