This revised version of Musings of a Mad Scientist has been edited by the author, to remove non-literary digressions and overly abrupt transitions. Of the original works, perhaps 75% are preserved, and appropriate transitions or endings have been introduced when indicated. The scope of Musings remains very broad... from our inner space, to the outer realms of the Universe. Dissecting difficult concepts is the woven goal of the Mad Scientist as he articulates his heartiest feelings on life.

Out of Doors is a poetic expression of Nature in a Pacific Northwest Forest, as seen through the eyes of David Gretch, a former medical scientist turned author and poet. Inspired during daily walks in the forest, the author presents his poetry and photographs embracing Nature in this magnificent ancient mountain setting.

The beautiful continent of Africa is in crisis. In the wake of greedy corporations mining valuable natural resources, and through the exchange of rights to such resources, large regions of Africa are under a terrible reign of social injustice, with atrocities including ritualistic rape and murder, artificial war, induced famine, and extreme political corruption. In this anthology, African poets offer illuminating insight into a land and people known for generosity and warmth, as they bravely stand strong in the face of unthinkable tragedy.
