Dennis Lee was born in Russia but was raised in an abusive American home. After getting told by his doctor he could not amount to anything he attended college and joined the military. Born in 1995, he was diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome. Life has been a struggle and hard for him to get through, yet he fought every day to get through college and the military. He turned to poetry as a way to escape.
Pepsi had it wrong: ours is the video generation. We grew up getting our entertainment, news, product advertising, and a great deal of our education from a dynamic, visual media, television. Previous generations relied on printed media such as newspapers and magazines, or the audio-only media of radio. Future generations may depend on other forms of communication, but for today and the foreseeable future, video presentations are the most effective way of communicating persuasive, entertaining, or informative messages to an audience.

Civil Elegies is Dennis Lee''s uncompromising exploration of citizenship, both Canadian and human. Eli Mandel has called Civil Elegies one of the most important contemporary books of poetry in our country. It was the winner of the Governor General''s Literary Award for Poetry in 1972. This edition features a new introduction by noted academic Nick Mount, who places this important collection in the context of Canadian literature and Lee’s career.
Testament is the summation of Dennis Lee’s decade-long exploration of the dilemma of contemporary existence. Incorporating and rethinking the work published in Un and Yesno, and featuring many completely new poems, this startling collection reminds us anew of the catastrophic reality we have made of our planet, while simultaneously insisting on a particular kind of hope for our future. Testament continues, too, Lee’s radical and inventive use of langue, shaping the familiar into the shockingly new. It is a landmark achievement, and a fitting end to one of the most ambitious projects in Canadian poetry.
This book is an exhilarating revelation. No other poet in Canada has the depth and range of Dennis Lee. Jazzman, jester, and metaphysician, hardball political thinker and passionate lover, he has been publishing poems for fifty years, working across the spectrum from nursery rhymes and skipping songs to uncompromising moral introspection to full-tilt love songs, plangent psalms, and ecstatic, solitary prayer. This Omnibus represents them all, and it will make your head spin. There are poets’ poets and people’s poets. And then there are those few who are neither and both: the few who become, over time, part of the warp and weft of their culture. The Dennis Lee Omnibus collects for the first time work from all corners of this extraordinary career, from Lee’s searing early breakthroughs to his beloved children''s verse to his visions of environmental apocalypse. A must-have collection from one of Canada’s literary icons.
Before the church can arise and shake the world for the Lord, it must bring back the truth of God's Word. The church needs to make the declaration to "Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help us God." Wells of Living Waters is a message of the Holy Spirit for the church to remain strongly rooted in the foundational truths inherent in God's Word. Its purpose is to bring back those foundational teachings that Satan has been trying to stop or cover over within the church. In its desire to stay current and culturally relevant, the church has left behind some of the great biblical teachings in order not to offend those who attend. In the process, however, the church has dug all these new wells of teaching only to find many of them dry or worse, filled with poisonous water. Instead of trying to come up with all these new culturally relevant teachings, the church needs to go back and reopen those foundational truths where the true living waters of God's word can be found that has brought life and revival to millions. In Jeremiah 6:16, the Lord said, "Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls." Wells of Living Water deals with the foundational truths of holiness, faithfulness, repentance, the blood of Jesus, judgment, hell, Satan, the person and purpose of the Holy Spirit, the authority of the Scriptures, fasting, and stewardship. This book is soundly based on scriptural authority as well as Pastor Lee's long-term experience in the discipling of God's people-to all who seek to bring pure, living water to a thirsty world.
It's a state that could be influenced by hardships, people or even yourself: the desire to know, "Where are you going" and how to embark on this self-discovery journey. However, the best first step to take is asking God to come into your life as part of a spiritual transformation. In the new Christian self-help guide by author Dennis Lee, From Here to There: A Journey to Spiritual Transformation, you are introduced to entering through the narrow gate, realizing you are a new creation in Christ when you accept Jesus as your Savior. Dennis provides Christian readers with biblical principles to help grow their relationship with God, while also seeking more time alone with God. The necessity for humbly surrendering to God in every area of life is also discussed, as well as the power of the Holy Spirit found in prayer; all part of living on purpose for God.
