Curl up with this collection of spooky bigfoot tales from across the U.S. and beyond. These stories will transport you to places where the everyday experience of life gets gigantically interrupted by a huge, hairy hominid. As you'll see again and again, the average person isn't quite prepared to meet face-to-face with a monstrous, mythical beast of legend. When such meetings occur-in all kinds of unexpected places-the people involved get the fright of their lives and can do little more than try to survive the experience. While most experts agree that bigfoot isn't an aggressive creature with malicious intent, the historical record is full of terrifying encounters with something that's much bigger, faster, stronger and hairier than any human being. Those fortunate enough-or unfortunate enough-to have run into the creature almost always come away from the experience deeply shaken, as everything that they thought they knew about the natural world is instantly and forever turned upside down. So come along on a ride through this set of chilling bigfoot tales written by Don Shearer. You may come to question your beliefs about what's possible in nature.
Charlie Marlowe is a retired professor traveling around the United States in a recreational vehicle with his trusted beagle pal, Betty. They motor from state to state investigating recent reports of bigfoot/sasquatch sightings submitted by people who've encountered something monstrous that they can't explain. As a knowledgeable, empathetic field investigator, Charlie arrives to help people make sense of it all.Amidst many of his bigfoot investigations, Charlie gets personal and up close-probably too close-with the huge, hairy, bipedal giants of the forest. He learns about regional variations of bigfoot behavior around the U.S., and he has some truly terrifying run-ins with bigfoots who aren't particularly happy to have Charlie (and his little dog too) invading their territory. Will our intrepid investigating team get out of these close scrapes in one piece? Will they survive and make it home after all of these scary, face-to-monster meetings? Will Betty the beagle take a bite out of bigfoot?
