A Lost Paradise is a novel written by Frederic Arnold Kummer and published in 1914. The story takes place in the early 1900s and follows the life of a young woman named Barbara, who is forced to leave her comfortable life in New York City and move to a remote island in the South Pacific. Barbara's father, a wealthy businessman, has purchased the island with the intention of turning it into a profitable plantation. However, things do not go as planned, and Barbara finds herself struggling to adapt to her new surroundings. As she begins to explore the island, Barbara discovers a hidden valley that has remained untouched by civilization. The valley is a paradise, filled with exotic plants and animals, and Barbara is immediately drawn to it. But as she spends more time in the valley, Barbara realizes that there are dangers lurking in this seemingly perfect paradise. She discovers that the valley is home to a tribe of natives who have been isolated from the rest of the world for centuries. Barbara becomes fascinated by the natives and their way of life, but her curiosity leads her down a dangerous path. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions.2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references.
