Der gewaltige Strom von Ideen und Energien, den der Krieg und die Revolution auslasten, hat alle Fundamente der Wirtschaft umspiilt, hat manche unterwiihlt und in Triimmern fortgerissen, hat aber aucll anderw?rts aus solchen Resten neues Land, neuen Grund geschaffen, auf dem es jetzt gilt, sich neu einzurichten. In diesem Stadium befinden sich die deut­ schen Unternehmungen und wohl auch die aUer anderen Industrie­ I?nder, in denen die Verheerungen hachstens dem Grade nach ge­ rin ger waren als bei uns. Will man nun diesem Problem der Umstellung der Betriebswirt­ schaft auf die Verh?ltnisse der Gegenwart verstehend n?herkommen, so ist zweierlei notwendig: Einmal volles Verstandnis der Vergangen­ heit und der Entwicklung, die zur Gegenwart fiihrte, zum anderen, aus der Vergangenheit herausgewachsen, ein klares Programm fiir die Neugliederung unserer Wirtschaft. Es machte zun?chst scheinen, als oh der Betriebswirtschafter in der Lage w?re, seine Aufgabe voIl zu erfiillen, wenn er sich nur den Fragen des :Betriebes in dessen eigenem Rahmen mit voller Hingabe und klarem Kopfe widmete_ Indessen ist dem nicht so.
