Dr. Habib Khan has marvelously expressed his experiences at Dow Medical College in the form of Urdu Poetry (Nasri Nazm), encompassing ever-lasting friendship, love, dedication, respect and frivolous activities, which made them laugh and cry at times. He has revived and built connections amongst past, present and future students of Dow Medical College or any other educational institution sharing the similar culture and values.
Shehre Janaan is a poetic work of Dr. Habib Khan in the Urdu language. It comprises poems reflecting his journey of life, mainly in Karachi, Pakistan, from his childhood to when he graduated from Dow Medical University and moved to the US to practice medicine. Habib cherishes good old days full of joy in the vibrant metropolis, Karachi, through the window of Nostalgia. Habib focuses on the little things which make a big difference in our lives and etched in our memories. These episodes of our lives take us down memory lane when we experience low and high tides. His poems take readers to their childhood, enjoying the beautiful memories created in the past, and finding happiness. Whether it''s fighting over the game of cricket, playing pitthu bari, or burying oneself under the flowers and leaves falling from the tree in the backyard, our childhoods find resemblance and refuge in his poems. His youth''s colors are so vivid in his poem that they take the readers into their past. Being a sensitive person, Habib cries through his poetry over the bloodshed of innocent people amid the political unrest in many parts of the world and leaves a keen reader with welled up eyes.
