""Browning as a Philosophical and Religious Teacher"" is a book written by Henry Jones that explores the philosophical and religious ideas present in the works of the famous English poet Robert Browning. The book delves into Browning's views on various topics, including morality, free will, and the nature of God, and analyzes how these ideas are expressed through his poetry. Jones argues that Browning's works contain a deep and complex understanding of human nature and the human condition, and that they offer valuable insights into the nature of existence and the role of religion in human life. The book is an in-depth exploration of Browning's philosophy and theology, and is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the intersection of literature, philosophy, and religion.1899. The purpose of this book is to deal with Browning, not simply as a poet, but rather as the exponent of a system of ideas on moral and religious subjects, which may fairly be called a philosophy. Mr. Jones is conscious that it is a wrong to a poet to neglect, or even to subordinate, the artistic aspect of his work. At least, it would be a wrong if our final judgment on his poetry were to be determined on such a method. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Henry Jones, known to everyone as Harry, was born in Gyffin, a small village next to Conway, North Wales, on the 29th of October 1908. He grew up in Gyffin and became a postman. During the Second World War he joined the Army and worked on mail distribution. Upon returning he rejoined the Post Office. Apart from his war service he never lived far from where he was born. After he retired early for health reasons he wrote of his life, the things he remembered, and the people he knew, particularly from his childhood. These memoirs were written longhand in five hardbound notebooks. Harry writes of the showman's engine, the steam roller, early buses, toys, the early cinema, the town porter, the water mill, and the less fortunate among many other recollections of childhood. He writes of the jobs he held, memorable people he knew, his experiences in the war, and of his family. Harry describes the working life of his father-in-law, a long time engine driver for the London and North-Western Railway. It seems a shame that these memories should fade into the fog of history especially in this age of self-publishing, computers, PDF files, and such-like miracles. We have transcribed the notebooks and given the text the lightest of editing. We have taken advantage of the resources of the internet to annotate the chapters where we can. Almost without exception documents on the web show that these memoirs are accurate. We also have access, which Harry did not, to the 1911 and earlier Censuses and the 1939 Registry and these have provided some more information. In the final section "The Family" we have provided some additional information to put Harry's life into context. Apart from the sections describing his jobs, Harry did not write much about his home life after he was grown so we have added additional information to make things clearer. So read on. Read memories of childhood, read of now vanished occupations, read the story of a long-time railway driver on the LNWR, read Harry's memoirs of the war (but read first his admonition that war is horrible). Read of Harry's compassion for the unfortunate. Read of saints and sinners (and of some people who took the law into their own hands). Read not of leaders or major economic or social trends but read the history of the ordinary people of North Wales.

Washington and His Colleagues-a chronicle of the rise and fall of federalism is a classic American history text by Henry Jones. Washington was glad to remain at Mount Vernon as long as possible after he had consented to serve as President, enjoying the life of a country gentleman, which was now much more suited to his taste than official employment. He was weary of public duties and the heavy demands upon his time which had left him with little leisure for his private life at home. His correspondence during this period gives ample evidence of his extreme reluctance to reassume public responsibilities.

These are a few of the treats that await you in this book. Face it: your marriage can make you, break you, or (worst) numb you. It can be the best times of your life or the worst. It can be your dream come true or your worst nightmare. "Your relationship with your spouse," says Roy H. Williams, " is the most valuable asset in your life." He should know. He is known as the Wizard. This book is a gift designed to help you avoid the deadly mines strewn all over your relationship and marriage. These are the words of people who have made these mistakes and learned the lessons the hard way. this is no book of theoretical psycho BS. It's the words of adults, by adults, for adults. (Take this as your adult language warning). According to James Altucher: Many people want to end their marriages. Sometimes people marry for the wrong reasons and sometimes people marry the wrong people. Or even better, sometimes you marry the right person but they married the wrong person. Or even worse, sometimes you married the right person but then you just want to screw it up because you get pleasure out of doing that. If you see yourself in James's words, here's a chance for you to have one more go at making your marriage work. The book covers the period before you get married and after you get married. Your choice is clear: you can dig in, be yourself and choose to make these mistakes on your own. Or, you can keep this guide handy and avoid as many of these mistakes as you possibly can. Whichever option you choose is fine with me. Good luck. Henry Jones.

The purpose of this book is to deal with Browning, not simply as a poet, but rather as the exponent of a system of ideas on moral and religious subjects, which may fairly be called a philosophy. I am conscious that it is a wrong to a poet to neglect, or even to subordinate, the artistic aspect of his work. At least, it would be a wrong, if our final judgment on his poetry were to be determined on such a method. But there is a place for everything; and, even in the case of a great poet, there is sometimes an advantage in attempting to estimate the value of what he has said, apart from the form in which he has said it. And of all modern poets, Browning is the one who most obviously invites and justifies such a method of treatment.
