    This volume includes an exact rendering or the original book "Annals..." which was published in 1840 and which covers the period from approximately 1786 to 1840. This edition also includes the Appendix which was added to the original material and published in 1872. This edition also includes the complete list of area Civil War enlistees and conscripts with their ranks and units. Finally there is an original index included. There were only two illustrations included in the 1840 book. One was a 1797 map of the area including the merging of the Chenango River into the Susquehanna River at the point which is now just adjacent to the downtown area of Binghamton. We have added two graveyard illustrations of the tombstones of the first white child born in the area in 1788.
