What's the elephant in the room? What are we all pretending not to know? Over the course of countless coaching sessions with business leaders, top performing athletes and elite transitioning military, Joe Sweeney found that when people in all areas of life have a feeling of disconnection, they are unable to move forward. This book was written as a coaching guide to help people get better connected to themselves and others to find deeper meeting and purpose in life. This book delves deeply into a three-part mantra of connecting deeper with ourselves, with others, and to a power greater than us. Joe explores many of his coaching theories and practices that have helped thousands of people go from where they are to where they want to go. Joe Sweeney has spent more than forty years blending his love of business and passion for sports. He has owned, operated, and sold numerous companies, and has taken his crystalized knowledge from those experiences to create a world-class executive coaching, speaking, and training business. He is especially devoted to helping and mentoring young athletes and executives to develop all aspects of their career, business, and life. Software testing is a skill. Experience, training, self-study, and a good intuition are what make a good software test engineer. Most test engineers I know are con- tinually striving to learn more about technology. A test engineer is expected to know at least a little about practically everything-from operating systems to networks to databases-in order to be able to find bugs and report them articu- lately. What I always say to new testers is that this is a great profession for those of us who love to learn continuously. It's like you've never left college-you must study constantly. (Of course, that also makes it a good place to be if you like to feel constantly inadequate! You can never know enough. ) So, this book is for that self-motivated test engineer who is intent on continually upgrading his or her knowledge and now wants to learn more about automated software testing. This book is also for you test leads and managers who want to know what Visual Basic can do for your test project. A not -so-well-kept secret of automated software testing is that the major tools available commercially don't do every- thing you need them to do, in spite of their advertisements. It's probably unrealistic to expect any tool to be able to fully support the automated testing required for so many diverse applications.
A detailed system that will help you achieve your professional and personal goals Moving the Needle provides both the "kick in the pants" and the game plan many of us need to break out of the rut and get moving to achieve our goals.
A Tester's Guide to .NET Programming focuses solely on applied programming techniques for testers. You will learn how to write simple automated tests, enabling you to test tools and utilities. You will also learn about the important concepts driving modern programming today, like multitier applications and object-oriented programming. More businesses are adopting .NET technologies, and this book will equip you to assess software robustness and performance.Whether youre an experienced programmer who's unfamiliar with testing concepts, or youre an experienced tester versed in VB .NET and C#, the included real-world tips and example code will help you start your projects. Also included are review questions and hands-on exercises to help you retain knowledge. Additionally, the book features examples and quick language tutorials for both C# and VB .NET.
* New York Times Bestseller* #1 USA Today's Bestseller* #2 Wall Street Journal BestsellerBring your A game to Networking! How did Joe Sweeney……get Bob Costas to come to Milwaukee (in the middle of winter)?…become the “wingman" to the archbishop of New York City?…take Brett Favre's off-the-field income from $65,000 to more than $4 million? The answer is simple. Networking.Master networker Joe Sweeney shares his networking secrets from a long and successful career as a business owner, sports agent and executive and investment banking consultant. Sweeney's simple but effective 5/10/15 networking plan will give you a leg up in the current job market, help you stay employed, or, if you've been laid off, find your next job. Sweeney illustrates his insights with dozens of helpful examples from his own life (along with a few fascinating insider sports stories). With special sections on networking for women and minorities, insights into the usefulness (and handicaps) of social networking sites, how to get (and why you need) a wingman and profiles of other master networkers, Networking Is a Contact Sport is a practical and essential guide for anyone who wants to get ahead in today's economy.
