In the 1800's, Indian tribes were forced off the plains and onto reservations. Their horses killed or left to run wild, growing into great herds. A new breed of cowboy, the Mustang Hunter was born. It was at this time that Leif Nelson, an immigrant from Norway, arrived to live with his Uncle Martin in Montana. Leif first set eyes on the beautiful stallion while riding the lonely prairie. He witnesses him fight a grey stallion to the death for his mustang mares. He names the stallion Thor. The tale of this stallion in Montana spreads as riders from all corners of the land come with their best horses. They return defeated, covered with Musselshell dust, swearing that the white stallion cannot be caught. A Blackfoot hunting party captures Leif while he is hunting Thor. Rescued by a rancher, he falls in love with his daughter, Sarna. Later he befriends a loner, Antone Baine, who introduces Leif to his horse, Big Red. This is a story of mustangs, love and death. You must read this tale for the exciting finish. Even the Blackfoot braves shake their heads for what they witness and raise their lances to the sky, chanting to the Great Spirit.

  • - A Holistic Approach
    af John Anderson

What I try to accomplish in this book is to review the common misconceptions about treatment and look at why most people get headaches. The information contained in this book is an overview of some of the headache triggers that are common in our every day diet, along with scientifically proven natural supplements that are safe and effective in reducing headaches. As a chiropractor, one of the most common complaints that I see in my office is neck pain that is associated with a headache. The single common denominator with this type of symptom is a condition known as Forward Head Posture. Over the past 10 years this has become an epidemic, mainly due to technology and the excessive use of computers, texting and simply bad posture. I cover dietary changes that can help reduce headaches. Some people can have allergic reactions to certain foods that are very subtle, but can cause headaches. Generally speaking, I recommend a gluten-free, paleo diet; that is, you can eat meats, fish, nuts, leafy greens, regional vegetables and seeds-no wheat, rye or barley, and only whole unprocessed foods. Supplements that have shown to offer a natural solution to the treatment of headaches include magnesium, riboflavin, CQ10 and Butterbur. The exact doses and how they work are explained in further detail in my book. As you can see, this is an overall approach that covers many areas. This information is not only safe and natural, but effective in reducing if not totally eliminating your headaches in less than 30 days.

The Lectures on Greek Philosophy of 1928 are among the earliest lectures we have of John Anderson's, delivered in the year following his arrival in Sydney in 1927. In these teachings he closely and critically followed John Burnet's classic work Early Greek Philosophy.Anderson's complete course covered the pre-Socratics extensively before progressing to the Socratic Dialogues and Aristotle. The study of Greek Philosophy for Anderson provided an important corrective to the attitudes and forms of inquiry dominating modern philosophy. The study of Greek philosophy was essential to Anderson because the Greeks 'are far clearer on many questions than modern philosophers...they avoid many modern errors, and especially... they are not, like the moderns, obsessed with "the problem of knowledge"... they do not set out to discover (that is to say, to know!) how, or how much, we can know, before they are prepared to know anything.'Modern philosophers need to return to 'the Greek consideration of things,' to finally abandon epistemology as 'an intrusion of mind into logic and of a false logic into psychology' and accept the direct common sense realism of the Greek philosophers.

These lectures from the 1930s on David Hume, Thomas Reid and William James trace the development of John Anderson's empirical realism, helping to distinguish his position from "English" empiricism, Scottish commonsense and direct realism, radical empiricism and pragmatism. They also demonstrate Anderson's approach to the study of the history of philosophy. The lectures on David Hume place Anderson in direct opposition to his teacher and colleague at Edinburgh, Norman Kemp Smith, who heavily influenced the direction of Hume studies in the twentieth century. The lectures on Thomas Reid are unique in Anderson's works in addressing this seminal figure in the Scottish philosophical tradition, providing background reflections upon his own theory of mind as feeling, and arguing for the critical importance of Freud for contemporary philosophical realists. The lectures on William James offer a final accounting with this major American influence on Anderson's early philosophical development. For Anderson there can be no reconciliation between rationalism and empiricism. The view of the development modern philosophy as an emerging synthesis of these competing epistemological positions must be rejected. Rationalism is a persistent source of philosophical error and the philosophies of the so-called "empiricists" are fundamentally weakened by their rationalist assumptions. The very idea of providing a foundation for knowledge in notions of self-certainty represents an inherently rationalist project and must be rejected by any truly empiricist philosophy.
